Have you ever spotted anyone famous at WDW?

IMO its all about having some class both as the celeb and as the fan
There is nothing wrong with asking for a picture at the right time and there is nothing wrong with saying not right now

Agreed. If you run into someone there's nothing wrong with saying hello and asking for a picture politely, and being understanding if they say no. But to chase someone down or interrupt their family time is wrong. Their kids and families didn't ask to be celebrities. I have friends that work in the entertainment industry and have been introduced to some interesting folks which is always fun, but not something I seek out.

How did we go from "we're going to San Fran instead of LA" and then followed by "so are there any celebs sighted at WDW"? Disneyland is in Cali on the West Coast. Walt Disney World is in Florida and 3000 miles away. :goodvibes

haha yes I see how it may seem confusing..but since this is a DISNEY forum and we are NOT going to Disneyland in California, I thought I would ask if anyone has spotted any celebs in Disney World in Florida since we are going there instead! Plus, it would be silly to ask if anyone has spotted any stars in San Fran, Las Vegas, NYC and Miami (the other U.S. cities we are also visiting on a Disney forum!)

If you get lucky there might be a big event going on and you could see a lot of celebs...

In 2005 we went for the Happiest Place on Earth kickoff and I saw more celebs then I could even remember...
we saw them in concert and walking around the parks

Then we were there for the opening of the American Idol Experience and they had a parade with the AI contestants - Every winner up to that point - including Carrie Underwood and then Paula Abdul and Ryan were there too...during the day we ran into several of the contestants walking around..

In Oct.2008 we saw Jordan Sparks at DHS. She was doing pics/autographs and my kids wanted to get her autograph but only one of them had their autograph book with them so we skipped it since the line was very long.

We've seen the 2009 and 2010 American Idol winners. Both years we managed to be in DHS the Monday after the season finale when they were at the parks. 2010 my MIL staked out a spot to see the winner and we ended up being issued wrist bands so we were filmed and got autographs. I'm not a big AI fan, so I can't remember their names....sorry!

In 1997 I saw Bruce Willis and daughters at Blizzard Beach. I didn't even recognize him. Someone in line behind me pointed him out.

In 2008, I was at Tusker House with my grandparents and we saw Donny Osmond--- which normally wouldn't have been terribly exciting, but my aunt (her daughter) is a huge Osmond fan. We're talking president-of-the-fan-club, used-to-get-phone-calls-from-him-on-her-birthday, named-her-daughter-"Marie"-fan. Well, my Grammy rushed over to him in the buffet line and made him talk to her on the phone. :lmao: The poor guy was just trying to get some salad! He was very sweet and courteous about it though.

I know he's not an "A" list star but just two weeks ago I saw Robert Irvine eating a cheeseburger at Rosie's All American Cafe at DHS. He was sitting at a table with his daughters and a Disney Guide. When they finished they walked behind the large gate in the back. As they walked past I said, "Love your shows chef". He smiled and said thank you. My kids were so embarrassed, that was the best part.

There were a ton of celebrity chefs out and about last September because of the F&W fest. All the cast members were psyched because Gordon Ramsay had been spotted all over WDW because he wanted to hit the start of F&W and was already in town doing an episode of "Kitchen Nightmares." I didn't get to see him though.

I tend to agree though, if I saw a celebrity at WDW who was not of some sort of public event, I'd leave them alone. They're probably there with their family and/or loved ones and deserve to be able to enjoy the park with them like I am with my family. I don't think being in the public eye doesn't mean you're "on" every time you walk out the door and even if I am their biggest fan in the whole world, they don't "owe" me anything for their celebrity status.

Brittany Spears and her son's were staying at AKL while we were there in 2009. We met up with them a few times coming and going in the lobby. I was surprise to see that noone was bothering them.

I ran smack dab into A-rod and Cameron Diaz in March 2011 in Liberty Square. She ended up getting a plaid CM to take her behind a lattice fence behind LTT to make a phone call. He was huge and she was teeny tiny. Both seemed a little perturbed that people were recognizing them.

Christmas 2006 we kept running into Edward James Olmos in the parks. He was there for the Candlelight Processional, but all during the day we kept running into him and his family and their double stroller. :)

Saw a good amount between when I was in the college program and just on small vacations. Saw Usher and Derek Jeter. Both were fantastic to their fans. Saw Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown on Sunset Blvd. They amused me because they insisted that they didn't want to have to deal with the fans so they had a Guest Relations cast member walking around with them. Then, I guess they changed their mind and started singing at the top of their lungs outside ToT. Saw Mary Lou Retton and she is just as adorable in person as she seems on television. Have seen Steven Tyler outside of RnRC and that really adds to the experience, let me tell you!

When we went in 2008 I scheduled our trip around the Disney Channel Games and had tickets to the concert. My kids were 10 and 11. We ran into a lot of Disney channel stars. The parade at DHS had the Jonahs brothers, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, The Cheeta Girls plus some others. Miley Cyrus was at splash and we got this picture on a late Pirates and Princess party with Cole Sprouse waiting for his friends to get off Splash. No one was even around! Very nice kid.
My dd is soaking wet from going down Splash Mountain over and over, she hates how she looks but I think it's adorable!

We saw Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley and their family in the parks in the late 80s/early 90s. Mr. Joel was trying to help me figure some exhibit out in the Wonders of Life pavilion, but I didn't realize who he was until after... :cool2: Can't imagine touring the parks amid a mob of fans....

I saw Alex Trebek about ten years ago, and also saw my grandmother turn into a jeopardy groupie right before my eyes :lmao:

Whenever I see a CM in a plaid vest uniform escorting someone in the parks, I always try to see if I recognize the person/family. Most of the time, it's just someone that has the means to hire a VIP tour guide http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/tours-and-experiences/vip-services/ but, sometimes it's a famous person.

Depending on what kind of event is taking place in the parks, the celebrities involved in the events are often spotted in the parks with their families or at the deluxe resorts.

I saw Warren Moon at the Villain store at DHS a few years ago. He was waiting for his kids to get some treats from the counter. I sacrificed one of the postcards I had bought to send to family and asked for his autograph. He was very nice and talked to me for a bit. I asked him if he'd been swamped with people asking for autographs and photos. He said I was actually the first person who had approached him in the two days he had been at WDW. He kind of laughed and said he was glad I came over because he was starting to think he was old and irrelevant! Fun memory for me of that trip!
