Have You Ever Sent Food Back?

I'm seeing so many bad reviews, I was just wondering.

I'm always afraid they will spit on it in the kitchen or do something really gross.

Only once at WDW have I done this.

At Artists Point I ordered my steak MR. It arrived burnt to a crisp.

I sent it back. The next one was served medium to MW.

I have sent back a steak at Le Cellier because it was overcooked. I like my steak rare/medium and this was certinly over done. Waitress was very nice and my steak arrrived the way that I wanted it.

Jogging my memory and ca't say that we ever have sent anything back due to faulty preparation. Once (some years ago) the chicken that Mrs. U got at Liberty Tree Tavern was raw in the center--but we just ate the rest of the meal, and left.

I once got a steak at Flying Fish was that overcooked.
The waiter noticed it before I did and quickly took it away and got me another one. Then we got dessert on the house!

I think I am ready to try Citrico's next week, Uncleromulus!
But, I am supposed to go to California Grill too.
Decisions, decisions! :)

IF you select Citrico's be sure to speak to the new Manager, Arun Joshi! Great guy, recently moved from Yachtsman Steakhouse.
Tell him, Mike Scibetta say's "Hi!"

Never at Disney as they have always prepared it how we like it ie steaks etc.

But I did complain at Bennigans ? on the International Drive. Half the food came out hot and 10 minutes later the other half came and it was cold. Potatoes raw and fried with way to much salt and pepper but the best was that the chicken was still bloodly on the bone and ribs were half done nice and half bloody. My chap explained all this to the server who told the manager who SHOUTED form the bar about 25 feet away ' just leave and go then, no charge'. We had a choice leave or talk to him but sometimes you know its best to just walk away.

Just once at Disney--my DH ordered seafood risotto at CRT and it was so salty that his tongue swelled. Our wonderful server whisked it away and brought him a fresh one--perfectly prepared--a few minutes later.

Have had to send food back at other places a few times. Once bit into a grilled chicken sandwich that was raw in the middle (unbelievably gross), and have been served ice cold and burned food. At one local restaurant my friend and I were served frozen french fries--they had never been in the fryer!

My DH had to send his Grouper back at the Brown Derby. We had both ordered it and mine was fine, but his had definately gone bad. I took a bite and had to spit it out because it tasted so gross. When we called the waiter over to send it back do you think he apologized? Nope he actually had the nerve to say "well they came from the same batch"! Anyway, he grudgingly brought out another plate of the grouper but unfortunately that one was also bad. At this point we asked to see the manager because we did not want to deal with the waiter's uncaring attitude. When we explained that we had received two plates of bad fish the manger said "I am sorry the fish is not to your liking, perhaps you would prefer the steak or chicken?" I kept insisting that it had nothing to do with his LIKING because my grouper was fine but I tried both of his dishes and they were BAD. The manager kept answering in that condescending tone that it was "unfortunate" it was not to our satisfaction, taste, etc. but he insisted DH try something else at no charge of course. DH finally settled on roasted chicken because he had steak the night before, but it is not what he was hoping for. I don't think we will be heading back there anytime soon, not because of the fish but because we both felt we were treated as if we were the ones that had done something wrong. Too bad because it used to be a favorite!

Read my post about what happened to us at the Brown Derby last week! I think that they must have a management problem or something there! I agree with you...I won't go back there anytime soon either.

Actually I did read your post Chrissy because Brown Derby in the title caught my eye and I wanted to see if anyone else had a similar problem there. Although we did not have the same complaint (hair in my food makes me gag) it does appear as if they may be having a problem with management. The last thing we wanted was a free meal, even though mngt made us feel as if that is exactly what they thought we wanted. Like you...all my husband wanted was to eat.

Maybe they have a thing against people from MA, LOL! I just noticed that you're from MA too:p We're from Shrewsbury:D When did you guys have your bad experience at the BD? The hair thing happened just last week. I'm wondering if maybe they had a recent change in management or something?

It was Aug/02 that we had our "bad experience" at BD, but the previous August our dining experience was wonderful. Maybe it is a conspiracy against us Massachusetts folk....we live on the North Shore! ;)

I sent my steak back at Emeril's my steak ordered rare was well done, they were extremely annoyed with me.
The other one was not at Disney either, but at Johnny Rockets, I ordered a cheese burger, it came without meat, it actually was pretty funny.......
