Have you ever seen this on Ebay?

I haven't bought or sold on Ebay in at least six months. I just bought something the other day and went to leave positive feedback and I received this message:

Buyers, you can no longer receive negative or neutral Feedback from sellers.

You should leave honest and accurate Feedback without the fear of receiving negative or neutral ratings.

Why wouldn't sellers be able to leave negative or neutral feedback? :confused3

Because the majority of sellers used feedback as retaliation for a neg or neutral. Very rarely did sellers leave positive feedback upon receipt of payment which is when they should. I'm a seller and I always did. Sure, there are bad buyers out there too. No system is perfect. Ebay hopes to bring in more buyers this way.

Yeah, I got that message yesterday when I went in to leave feedback for some things I'd bought. I understand the idea of keeping people from retaliating with bad feedback when they got bad feedback, but I don't really like that you can't leave bad feedback for a buyer. So if there is a buyer who routinely backs out, doesn't pay, etc., they have no consequences. Too one sided for me. I'd rather see them set up the system so that sellers can only leave feedback within the payment period of the auction but not after. Then you could still leave "great, fast payment" or "never paid" or whatever, but couldn't retaliate with bad feedback two weeks later if you didn't give good service and got bad feedback yourself. :confused3
