I went to a strip mall near my home on Saturday. I was stopping into the At&t store. Next to it was a Japanese sushi restaurant. Very small. As I walked past the restaurant I noted it was closed and would open at 5pm. I was reading the menu on the door and looked in and there on every single table was all dirty dishes, some with food actually still on the plates. I looked closer and it appeared to me that someone yelled "fire" and then all left and locked the doors. VERY ODD.

I went into At&t and after the clerk helped me with questions that I had ... I had to inquire about the restaurant next door. The At&t clerk said that they do that all the time. They do not clean up at the end of the evening, instead when they come in the next afternoon, then they clean the restaurant.

I turned to DH and said "ewwww"!

I have never walked past a closed restaurant, looked in and saw dirty dishes w/food still on every table from the evening before.

That is disgusting. I have worked in a restaurant and I know how incredibly tired you are at the end of the night, but I could never imagine leaving everything out and dirty till the next day. That is just inviting rats, mice and roaches.

Be glad you discovered this. Now you can be sure that not only do you never go there but that your friends never go there either.

Nope, no one was in there. I actually looked at the HOURS of the restaurant and noted that it was indeed closed when I was staring into the windows. DH actually asked me why I asked the At&t clerk about the restaurant ... I told DH that that is gross ... and could not believe that they actually LEFT it like that ... Oh and get this, California restaurants are all GRADED "A", "B", "C" for service, food, etc it is for customers ... and this place has a huge "A" in the window????????
