Have you ever not used Mousekeeping?

I'm thinking of not using Mousekeeping for our upcoming trip. My plan is to wipe down the room when we get there and just keep things tidy during our stay (I do this anyway, so it's nothing unusual for me). Have you ever done this? If so, I have three questions for you:

1. Who do you tell and when that you don't want Mousekeeping during your stay?

2. How do you get clean towels?

3. Do you have to leave the "Do Not Disturb" sign on your door?
