Have you ever made your own Dining Plan ?

If we do not stay at a WDW resort - then we will stay at the Dolphin. I was thinking of using our Disney Visa points (reward dollars) like a dining plan.
I know TS places can use the Disney Reward dollars for meals.

Has anyone else done this ?

This is not making your own dining plan--its purchasing your meals with your rewards dollars.

Might as well use those rewards dollars for something, and you still have to eat.

Whether or not this constitutes "making your own dining plan", be aware that you cannot use Disney Rewards dollars at the Swan and Dolphin restaurants, as those are not Disney operated restaurants (but you can use them at the gift shops in those hotels, as those gift shops are operated by Disney). Other than that, Disney rewards dollars can be used just about everywhere else in the other resorts and the parks, so if you want to save them for use on meals, go for it.
