We always make PS's for dinner, but I am wondering if I should or even can make a PS for lunch.

We would like to try Alfredo's in Italy while we are in EPCOT. I have heard differing opinions about the restaurant but most people agree that they are a little expensive.

I thought maybe we could do a late lunch for our first trip there to see how it is instead of dinner.

Has anyone ever made a PS for lunch?

We do almost every trip.

There are some days where a sit-down lunch fits into our plans so we pick a nearby restaurant and make a PS.

I have made ps's for lunch for the Sci-Fi and for the Garden Grille. It is definitely do-able.

Thanks - I'm glad I asked. We'll probably do a PS lunch instead of dinner to try Alfredo's. :D

If you are going during a busy time and want to eat at a certain restaurant for lunch, then definitely make PS.

We ususally eat lunch because you get the same food for a little cheaper price

With the variable wait times for rides (even with Fastpass sometimes), we did not want to schedule in lunch but we always PS for dinner and can schedule for that.

These posts are helpful since they generally give alternative views of the question at hand

Thanks
Jason

Since I am usually visiting alone with my dd's I always make a ps for lunch. With our touring plans a late lunch at a nice sit down restaurant works out great. We do a quick bite in the room for breakfast and hit a park early in the am - usually MK! Then a late lunch somewhere nice - this is our "real meal" of the day. Generally the restaurants are a bit less crowded and we get a nice break from the day.

We either go to another park or do a pool break and relax for a while. Generally we visit Epcot almost every night of our trip and graze around the world for dinner!

We always make PSs for lunch as well as dinner. We go to the parks as they open and by lunch we're ready for a chance to sit, relax, have a nice meal and some family time. After lunch we may do 1 or 2 more things if the park isn't too crowded but then we're out of there to relax at the pool or my guys will golf, etc. Occasionally we'll cancel a dinner PS but we never seem to cancel lunch. Obviously this approach isn't for everyone but we LOVE it.

I agree with Jason. It's great to read different stategies.

Almost all my larger full service meals are at lunch with a couple dinners thrown in. I always make a PS for them. A lot of times it doesn't appear that they were needed but some of them are definately good to have. I am always really hungry by lunch time and prefer the menues and prices then as well.

When making your decision regarding lunch vs. dinner at Alfredo's, you might want to keep in mind that the two are totally different dining experiences. It's been a few years since we've been to Alfredo's, but in the evening they have strolling singers/musicians and the dining room used to join in by waving their napkins in the air! Lunch was a little more sedate, as there was no entertainment.

Depends on the restraurant and park also. We always make them for the Plaza Res. because MK can be very busy. Also, always make them for the 50s prime time. You just can't get in during lunch time if you don't have them, and with Hollywood and Vine now being closed during lunch, this will be a must! But for the resort hotels I don't make them for Kona Cafe, Concorse Steakhouse, or Boatwright's dining hall. Other than character meals where PS are a must no matter what meal, I think that you should have PS for all meals in the parks. We are a party of 2 and can rarely get in with a PS, so can't imagine a larger party getting in without them also.

We've always tried to book a few PSs for late lunches. Then they take the place of dinner. It's cheaper and the food is usually the same. That way we can just snack later.

i agree with goofy4tink. The other lunch ps we always make is for 50's primetime-we love this place:D

Last trip we did all sit down lunches and only one sit down dinner (that was our Famtasmic pkg). Our PS at GG was a lifesaver on a very rainy day at Epcot. While walk-ins were being told "45 min. wait" we were seated immediately. Also our PS at Sci-Fi helped us bypass a waiting line.

We just grab a bagel or muffin in the morning so we are hungry by lunch and the sit down meal is welcomed by all.
