have you ever had to walk out of a movie?

... This is not walking out because I saw it on video, but I actually turned off Mama Mia, just couldn't get into it at all and it was no longer worth my time. I know that is a movie most people really enjoyed, but it was just stupid to me.

We got Mamma Mia as a present on DVD and I thought it was basically pitiful. I saw the musical on tour and loved it. Ms. Streep's singing was...well...about as good as a good-quality community theatre production, behind Whoopi Goldberg in Sister Act. The actress who played the daughter was phenomenal, and Mr. Brosnan...I think he was good eye-candy.

agnes!

I walked out of The Collector last night and spent most of the movie outside smoking and talking on my cell phone. I was just happy that we were at the cheap theater so that I had only spent a buck to see what I did see of it.

Once outside though, I did notice that it was from the writers of Saw IV, V, and VI. If I had researched it enough before I went in, I would never had gone at all.

Vanilla Sky.

Night of the Living Dead (the original; did not see the remake).

Only Shrek when my DS was acting up. We saw Inglorious Basterds and I was very disturbed by the audience. During the violent scenes, the crowd was LAUGHING! I kid you not. At least 50% of the packed theater laughing out loud like it was a comedy. (this was on opening night) I walked out of that movie telling Dh I was more disturbed by the audience reaction to the violence than I was the movie.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I assume that his violent scenes are just as over the top as the ones in his other movies. They are just SO over the top that they are laugh worthy! Like some of the ones in Kill Bill.

I never saw those stupid harry potter movies til couple of weeks ago. Wife wanted to go, kids were at in laws so we went

I fell asleep 30 mins into that mindless dribble. Teens angst and couple of wands.. lol was horrible.

At least I did not snore and bother anyone..

It is that, and the way the lines are being said at the time of the violence. Totally prime Quentin stuff.:rotfl2:

I did close my eyes a lot, but most of the bad stuff you knew was coming before it happened.

One a long time ago. I don't remember the title, but it was an alien, violent, x-rated, stupid show. I don't even remember what possessed me to go in, but I was pregnant and it was more than I could handle.

I walked out of The Blair Witch Project because it was the single dumbest, worst, most pathetic, incomprehensible to even be in the theaters, worse than "Manos: Hands of Fate" movie that I had ever had to suffer the displeasure of watching.

Blasphemy!!!

I kinda of want to see IB, but just that one scene almost shown in the ads causes me to know I will NOT be seeing it.

History of the World pt 2 - the movie we were supposed to see was sold out, so we wandered into this one. We were on a double date and we were all so embarrassed we finally left.

Part 2? Not sure that was ever made...imdb certainly doesn't think so.

It's a VERY typical reaction to Tarantino movies. At one point I really enjoyed his work, and I'm quite sure I laughed during Pulp Fiction.

I've never walked out of a movie, but I've seen others do it. I always think it's odd (unless it's an absolute horror film, but I don't see the type made now, and I probably wouldn't even watch the kind I used to watch...just can't watch violence ever since DS arrived). I saw Very Bad Things, which had awful images, awful ideas, awful people...and people were leaving, but at the end, well, the end sort of made up for it b/c there's vindication of some kind...I felt that the people who left missed that, and will never know that it ended like that. We also saw people leave the old-movies theater my mom worked at during the cabaret scene in Guys and Dolls. Just too much skin (all covered in tights and leotards, mind you) for them!

Nope. I've seen bad movies but never enough to make me get up and walk out. I've walked out of a couple of plays before at intermission. I've also walked out to complain about other rude patrons, but I've never walked out soley because of the content of the movie. We saw the Basterds today and I enjoyed it. It didn't seem as violent as some of his other work. I enjoyed the ending.

The French Lieutenant's Woman and Atonement
Loved both the books and hated both the movies.

I have never walked out of a movie, but I did see a couple in their late 60s/early 70s walk out about 45 minutes into Knocked Up. :rotfl:

I walked out of Man on the Moon. I didn't know anything about Andy Kaufman (actually I still don't) and I just didn't get it.

You are the only person that I 'know' that knows of MAnos: HAnds of Fate. I love that movie and own it on DVD...of course it is from the MST3K
collection.

Not me, but a strange thing happened last weekend when we saw "Taking Woodstock" last week. We went with a couple who we both work with. Well halfway through the movie, there was a gay kiss (two guys). It wasn't graphic like Brokeback Mountain or anything-it was just a kiss. It lasted maybe 15-20 seconds, but all of the sudden the husband of the couple got up and said "That's it, I'm leaving!" & stormed out. I thought he was just kidding because he is usually kind of a jokester & I figured he was just out to go to the bathroom or what not. Well, apparently the guy was totally serious. His wife had to go out and get him and "calm him down":confused3

I just didn't get it. I mean whatever your beliefs are, is it really necessary to get that angry over a scene in a movie???

I haven't been able to look at this guy the same since that happened. I was always aware of his religious and political beliefs, but I guess I never expected the guy to act so childish over a brief fictional scene in a movie. The way this guy was acting you would think he had just walked in on an affair with his wife or something.
