Have you ever had arrival delayed a day with dining plan

We live in the great white north and are arriving in mid January. Sometimes we are delayed a day or two because we can't get out of an airport. Has anyone with a dining plan ever had this happen and was Disney willing to work with you and extend the ressie the number of days you were late without charge? (Please let the snow stay away from my vacation!)

If you booked travel insurance when you made your deposit then you are covered.

Regarding travel insurance - check to make sure weather and other "acts of God" are covered. Our plan through AAA did not cover hurricanes but it did cover such things as a death in the family or illness by one of the travellers. (Although what's more an act of God than a death in the family? I don't get it!)

So check that out before you make any assumptions. Otherwise, we have found Disney to be very accommodating in the event of sudden changes in plans. You're not travelling during peak times so I think they would be able to work with you.

This past December we arrived a night early (because of a snow storm coming) and stayed a night extra (because of a sick kiddo). The fabulous CM's allowed us to keep the same room for the extra days. We obviously had to pay for the extra nights. Not sure what they would do if you were pushing your entire vacation out a day or two...If it is weather related, if they have availability and you communicate with them, I am sure they will do what they can to accomodate you.

If there is availability, then there's no reason you can't extend your stay. My family from New Orleans came to WDW after Katrina and kept extending their stay day-by-day until they could return safely to their home. You would still be charged for the missed days though, so that's where it's a good idea to have travel insurance to reimburse for the loss.---Kathy
