Yes, a few times. I used to do celebrity photography so would get opportunities like this once in awhile. Most recent one (around 2010 or so -- before I stopped the photo work) was a Miranda Lambert, Lady A and Kenny Chesney show.

Just once. Back in the 70s a friend got us photo passes that also got us backstage. Groups were Journey, Starcastle and Gary Wright. Still have the photos in a box somewhere in the house.....

Once back in the day when Barry Manilow had the private fan club in West Covina and they offered it to the members. A second time (it wasn't considered back stage per say) My friend and I drove to Concord (bay area) and was super early. The gate guys told us they weren't open yet but there was a good coffee place down the street for bathrooms to wait until they opened. When we got back, there was a huge line. When we got up to the front, the guys remembered us and told us to follow the guy in the red. He led us straight to the back. Well, after the show we went to our car and Barry's limo was in our way so we had to wait (darn....: ) He came out, remembered me from LA,talked to us, gave us a hug and got into his limo. Loggins and Messina, we walked town K street mall, found a flower that someone had spilled some beer on. We went back to the venue and they were just coming out the back so we handed them the flower. Messina smelled it and asked us if we had more of that stuff LOL (I was a teenager at this time)

Went backstage for a Train concert and have a signed Ukulele from the band when Hey Soul sister was a big hit. It was a VIP package I got for myself for my birthday.
