I'm a quiet person and hardly ever do anything that's really embarrassing. However, I think that I now have a good answer when someone asks me the next time what my most embarrassing moment was.
I woke up sick with a horrible cold on Wednesday. I spent most of that day in bed. DH worked from home, so he watched Jacob and basically just brought him to me when he needed to eat.
On Thursday, I thought I was feeling better. DH went to work and I was fine, and then when he said he needed to go run some errands after work, I didn't even think about asking him to stay.
Things took a turn for the worse almost as soon as he left. The baby got cranky and hungry. I tried to feed him, but I guess I was just exhausted because I ran out of milk, which has never happened before. Jacob decided that the way to make me make more milk was to bite the crud out of me. After about seven really hard bites, I finally put him down while I defrosted some milk in the freezer to make a bottle. He screamed the whole time.
I decided to call DH while I was making the bottle because I was on the verge of a meltdown. I called his cell and could barely hear him because of all the screaming. I asked him when he was coming home, and he acted like he didn't even know what I was talking about. Well, that just got on my last nerve, so I started crying and yelling at him at the same time. Then I heard someone who was clearly not my DH say, "Who is this?"
I said, "Um, who am I talking to?" He said it was Dale. DH's name is Chris. So I just said, "I'm so sorry. I dialed the wrong number." And I hung up.
I've thought about calling the guy back and apologizing (I was able to see on my phone what number I had called after I hung up), but it's probably no use. I'm sure the guy made a mental note to never answer his phone again if he sees my name on the caller ID.
