Have you ever called 911

Several times and the response time was within 5 to 10 minutes.

The one time we started to use the microwave a little puff of smoke came from the electrical outlet it was plugged into and there was this weird fishy burning smell. We unplugged it and everything seemed fine but my mother decided to call and ask to see if the could send someone from the fire department to check it. Just to be on the safe side. Within a couple minutes we could hear them coming, 2 fire engines, an ambulance and a police car. Must have been a little bored that night.

I've called at least twice for my parents, and have advised others (DM & also AL workers) to call a few times. When DF fell and broke his hip, he didn't want DM to bother anyone, so she called me. That was one of the "call 911 or I will incidents."

My grandmother used to do that. She had angina and would be having chest pains and would call my mother. Then my mother would have to call them because my grandmother didn't want to, she wanted my mother to drive her to the hospital.

A few times for car accidents, including ones I've been involved in. The most serious & scary was when mom slipped on the linoelum tile in our kitchen and hit her head. She was bleeding everywhere and I was scared to death. The response time was less than 5 mintues and after some stitches and a full checkup mom came home 2 days later.

Actually several times. I've done it occassionally if there's a stalled car on the side of the rode, or on the road. Once because a 40 something year old man, I guess going through a mid life crisis, decided to flash my cheerleading team. A couple times because my grandmother had passed out, or was about to. It seems like there's been more, but I can't think of them right now.

I've called 911 countless times at work. A police officer usually shows up within a few minutes, ambulance crew takes 5-10 minutes.

In my personal life I've called twice. Both times seemed like it took an eternity, but it probably wasn't more than ten minutes. Those are some scary 10 minutes, though.
