you couldnt even get in your own car!!

this happened to us just the other day at our local casino

we came out to our car only to find the person next to us pulled so close (over the line close) that there was no way we could get into our car

we tried getting in on the passenger side and try to get over the console--that of course didnt work--if cars still had bench seats there wouldnt be a problem

tried to squeeze in the driver side which for sure wasnt going to work

so we in by security and they made an announcement for plate number to go to your car--I asked security what happens if no one shows up--I mean we were getting the person away from what could have been a hot machine we were told I dont know

ok thanks for the help he should have said well come back and see me and well try to figure something out--but we were on our own

well as luck would have it just as we were walking up to our car the owner was there putting stuff in her trunk--she knew she needed to move her car so we didnt have to say anything--

then my DH to make the situation funny he said if I would be 30 years younger or 30 pounds lighter I probably could have made this work

person didnt say anything--an Im sorry whether she meant it or not would have been nice--nope moved her car over but this time she was over the line on the other side we probably should have asked security to go with us cause you never know who your dealing with

people just dont have any common sense anymore--everything is the world revoulves around me--
just fustrating thats all

I abhor anybody that parks directly next to me if there are other spots available. If that was an option and she still did that she should have vegetables thrown at her and publicly shamed.

Yep. I was lucky though I was able to climb over from the passenger side BUT in doing so I knocked my rear view mirror off.

Yes! Had to climb over from passenger side before. You really realize your age and loss of flexibility when you have to do that!

It is rude. And she’s lucky you didn’t dent her car thinking too bad, I’m smushing in no matter what! I’ve got back inside my car and moved it because I didn’t like my parking job. It took only a minute ... and I guess just a smidgeon of common courtesy.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with parking in any available spot as long as you stay within the lines of the single spot. Why do you care if somebody parks beside you, providing you've got no problem getting in and out of your car? :rolleyes1

for sure no one has common curtsey any more or common sense---

and then she backs out a bit to re park and parks over the line on the other side--hope someone does the same thing to her so she can see whats its like--she must have been there by herself cause her passenger couldnt have gotten out

Because they rarely do. I park out of the way intentionally and even with spots available dumb people will do what dumb people do.....Had a dumb driver pull up next to me in a parking lot, with several spots available and still hit my door getting out. I don’t mind the ding but I do mind dumb drivers

Not so close that I couldn't get in, but close enough that I had to struggle and squeeze. It was at the Cabana Bay hotel at Universal Orlando and the other car was over the line. And while I was trying to get in, the driver of the other car came by and watched but didn't offer to move his car. Then he got upset when I "accidentally" dinged his door with mine.

He seemed to be from Europe and most likely his car was a rental. I hope he sprung for the CDW :rolleyes1

I will also intentionally park way away because people are stupid.
But sometimes it isn't possible.

There have been 2 times that have stood out with idiot parking.

I went to Texas Roadhouse Steakhouse a few years ago and it was busy so I couldn't park away.
The only spot was partially covered by an old Cadillac. Yes I had to get out passenger side of a coupe but so did they when they got to their car.

Another time I had gone to movie theater. Not a lot of people there and it had recently snowed and they had made snow mounds when they cleared the parking lot.
So I parked near the snow mound. No one is going to be near me.
Wrong! I go out and can't see my car. There is a crappy ( as in bad shapt looking) Jeep on the mound leaning towards my car. Worst yet the mound wasn't in a parking space it was on the little parking median.

I was hot. He was out there and I told him what a dumb he was. And this wasn't a Jeep ad. I was like your Jeep is leaning towards my car.

Yesterday there was a Jack wagon who decided it was a good idea to go through the drive thru with his big truck pulling a trailer used for landscaping equipment and it was a car length long.
He then had to wait in the wait que because his food wasn't ready. He then had to run over part if the median with his trailer. Then pull up and back up in the parking lot.

You’re right, there is nothing wrong with parking in any available spot. However, if you try to back into the spot directly next to my passenger side, while I’m standing in it, getting my stuff, and there are TONS of other open spots, you won’t be parking anytime soon.

Just saying. :rolleyes1

Plus you have no idea what other cars have come and gone since parking.
