Have you ever been in MK on July 4th?

Crazy Crowds, Crazy Hot, Crazy FUN!!! We have been on the 4th many many times! Lots of extra entertainment, if you want to be in MK for fireworks, get there early, and plan to stay all day, as this park does close for crowds. As another PP mentioned, if you can snag a couple of ADRs, that will help rest you, we always try for one in the heat of the afternoon. As mentioned by many, the crowds are crazy. If you prepare to go with the flow, you will be much happier!

I've been there twice on 4th of July. The timing of the trip wasn't my choice as I was tagging along with extended family. Personally, I wouldn't go on that day again - much too hot and much too crowded for my tastes!

We did this 10+ years ago and we had a blast! We were big on getting the limited edition pins at the time and had fun breaking up into groups to go to all 4 parks and get the July 4th pin in each one. We then met and stayed in one park till mid afternoon. We did the Mickey's Backyard BBQ that evening and went to the beach at Ft. Wilderness and watched the fireworks that night! Great memories!

It is so hot and crowded and you can't leave or you might not get back in. The lines are so long (even for the bathrooms) that it is hard to find places to get out of the heat. You can absolutely not move for at least an hour before the fireworks and then awhile afterwards when it starts to clear. Transportation lines are at least an hour after the fireworks. We probably won't do it again. However....most years they show the same fireworks on July 3rd as well.....so if you are there a few days, my suggestion is to go see the fireworks on the 3rd, do a different park the 4th (DHS also has fireworks for the 4th or Illuminations at Epcot) and then go back to the MK on the 5th....its pretty dead in the morning!
