That is what I see in lots of grocery baskets in our area. :lmao:

Personally, I would make sure I have marshmallows, crunchy snacks, lots of Pespsi & Mntn Dew for me and chocolate! :cool1:

WHAT do you buy in anticipation of a snow storm?

Judy

Well, snowstorms around here are too rare to really worry about this sort of thing, but I imagine I'd want to be sure I'd have lots of red wine on hand. :teeth:

hehe - the milk/bread/eggs...for Nor'easter french toast?

I need to hit the package store...pick up a bottle of wine! hehehe

snow isn't starting here until late tomorrow (if we get any at all here in CT...could blow out to sea)

I had hubby go last night, partly because of the snow but mainly because we had no food! :rotfl2: I had him get 2 gallons of milk becuase I dont want to have to go out sunday morning for it since my daughter will go through a gallon of milk in 3 days! other than that just normal stuff with a few extras

Stinkerbelle, we posted the same thing at the same time. :rotfl:

I usually don't do anything special; however, it always seems that right before each snowstorm I am out of something crucial.

I noticed this morning that I only have a tiny bit of milk left. I use it for my hot tea and then for my cereal or pancakes for tomorrow morning. Normally I would just get the milk today on the way home but I am VERY AFRAID to stop at the grocery store today. It will probably be swamped.

I guess I'll just see what I can get at the Wawa! :teeth:

We call it Winter. It's just another day in the snow belt! Make sure the snow thrower is fueled up and ready, make sure you've got some salt for the stairs, and wood for the fireplace. Check to make sure you've got mini marshmellows for the hot chocolate, and warm fuzzy slippers for your feet. :goodvibes

priorities I tell ya! you can always find something to wipe your bum with in a pinch...and you can really live w/o milk for 2 days...

but wine...well...that's a necessity! :teeth:

That's a good idea--french toast! I'll make some tomorrow or Sunday.

I do need to go to the store, but it's more of a "go today since it might be snowing tomorrow morning and the ad ends tomorrow" kind of shopping trip. I'll also go to Sam's Club since I need things from there, but again it's a normal shopping trip, not a panic trip. I hope it won't be too crowded!

I really need to go to the store, just for regular shopping. However, we have important plans for the evening (going out for Happy Hour!) :sunny: and then I hate to have to go to the grocery store for an hour after that. Kroger has a good sale on Cokes that ends tomorrow. I dont' know what I'm going to do. I wanted to do Kroger and Wal Mart tomorrow, but we live on a mountain and I can't guarentee we'll get out tomorrow.

I've got most of the stuff I need on hand, but I am a little low on milk. So I might go on my way home. But if it's too crowded, I can get by with what I have.

I always make sure we have lots of junk food when we're going to be stuck in the house. But since this is my second week on Weight Watchers, that may not be such a good idea.

I'll have to stock up on healthy snacks instead.

I'd make sure I have some hot chocolate, pretzels, and some candy bars. OH, and matches in case we lose power because that happens often around here. I can deal without milk. :scared:

I'd also agree on the wine. Well make mine vodka. I have enough beer to last me through two winters. Gotta check on that vodka supply though...

The thought of going to the store today makes me cringe - we got away with snow for most of the winter, now we're going to get hit. At least it's during the weekend, so my DH will be home and can shovel :teeth: .

Uggh we're having a cocktail party tomorrow late afternoon and I have to shop for the food and booze we're serving. It's going to be a nightmare at Stop & Shop and the packy!

yep - you're from new england! heheh

(I think we're the only ones in the nation that call it a packie-run! heheh)

I haven't watched the weather in days.. Where is this big snowstorm supposed to hit - and when? I'm in upstate NY - capital district area.. :confused3

C.Ann,

I'm in Northern VA and we are supposed to get snow staring Saturday morning into the evening. Probably no more than 6 inches. But I guess the "cold system" is hovering over New York/New England somewhere and causing it, so I'm not sure what they are predicting for "up" there.

we always do our grocery run on thursday night and last night was no exception.....when we had the ice storm of 98 and the whole state was without power for a week........we had enough food on hand to cook for eleven people.....hey we took in some strays...(son and daughter in law) our daughter and her husband and two kids.....my mom and my mil......we had our friend that lives on the corner of our street ......she and I cooperated and she cooked a chicken for all of us and I gave her meat.......we had a great time......no power no heat .....no hot water but we were okey......
My shelves are full of canned goods......and boxed foods.....and our freezer has turkeys, and venison and moose meat.......we are all set for any major storm that lasts a month....... :thumbsup2

I'm in your neck of the woods...kids are so mad that it is coming on a weekend! You know how they are around here. Just the threat of snow and school is canceled. As long as 95 is clear by Sunday, I am good.. :thumbsup2
