I am soooo missing our 7 day cruise that I want to move up our plans to cruise on the Western in 2006.

The summer cruises in 2005 on the west coast are not an option, but we may be able to squeeze in a 7 day in 2005 during Thanksgiving.

How is it to cruise during the Thanksgiving holiday?

Jeff

oh! come with us!!!!!

i haven't cruised over thanksgiving but as you can see I'm going to in 2005. there is already a cruise meet thread for this cruise if you care to check it out - not very active though yet!

what pushed me over the edge for booking this cruise -- 2 DAYS AT CASTAWAY CAY!!!!!! yee haw!

there is a sampe Thanksgiving menu on Barb's site -- i'm anxiously awaiting the Thanksgiving cruise for this year to get all the juicy details!

I'll be cruising this Thanksgiving, so I'll be sure to get everyone a detailed report

We cruised Thanksgiving '03 and loved it. Keep checking the prices as the date grows closer; our price kept dropping as the cruise did not sell like they thought it would. We wound up getting a good deal and we got upgraded!
You do get the extra day at CC, however, Thanksgiving takes place during formal night. We didn't have lobster that night, which disappointed my son. We did have lobster the next day at CC, though.
We had a great time, so enjoy if you're going!

OK. Here is the short version of the story. We just got off the Magic from the 8/21 cruise. While on that cruise we booked a family reunion 3 day cruise for late June 05 and wanted to book a 2006 7 day cruise, but of course we couldn't because the rates aren't available yet.

The onboard booking agent Donna suggested picking a date in 2005 to secure the $200 onboard credit and then moving the date to 2006 when they come available.

I told her to pick a date in late 2005 and she did, Dec 3, 2005. We miss the Magic so much that we don't want to wait until 2006 to sail again so I started thinkg what date could we possilbly squeeze in a 7 day cruise in 2005. As you can tell by my post it is the Nov 19th cruise that would emcompass my step-daughters birthday and Thanksgiving

I called DCL today and they quoted me a price of $1,000 more for the same category that I had for the 12/3 cruise so I became disinterested, BUT I was not aware of the cruise spending TWO days at Castway Cay.

Can somebody explain to me why this is the case? I have never heard of any "planned" cruise going to Castaway Cay twice. My family would be very interested in this, maybe even if we had to spend the extra money.

Thanks,

Jeff

We're booked on the Thanksgiving 2005 cruise as well, and from what I understand, NO cruises are docking in Key West that week. (I can't remember exactly what's going on, I just jumped on it when I heard about the two-stopper at CC!):Pinkbounc

We have sailed on the Wonder every Thanksgiving since it set sail. We love it! All of the Christmas decorations are out, and I really enjoy the special menu (the regular ones are available too). Best of all, starting last year they now do a tree lighting on Castaway Cay and deck out the island in holiday finery.

I would love to sail at Thanksgiving! How wonderful! I am thinking about doing this for sure! I don't think we could swing Christmas (family and ex would be too mad) but Thanksgiving would probably be doable. WOW is all I can say about how it must be!

My big concern is getting the right flights. I've place a quote this morning at DU including airfare.

How good is DU at getting the flights at the times you need?

I've flown at Thanksgiving but because I was home with my infant DD we were flexible for time.
