Have you bought the BW refillable mug and regretted it?

We're staying at the BWV in April for the first time. I'm just wondering, since there isn't a food court right there in the building for convenience, is it really worth the purchase? I know where we can fill up, but isn't it just too far away for a cup of coffee in the morning to bring back to your room?

p.s., I know we can make coffee in the room, but I love the fact that you can just filler up with the mugs. Thoughts?

Yep. We bought one back in August. We bought it at the Bakery. There are not very many convenient places to refill it. We got it for dd who really wanted a coke. We could have used it at the pool bar but we just didn't think about it. We'll be at BCV in June and I think it will be the same story.

I bought one, but only because I wanted a souvenir to take home. Did not use it as a "refillable" while there.

You are correct - there really aren't any convenient palces to fill it, especially if your room ends up to be one of those that is near the end of one of the halls. I do not like carrying things around all day if I don't have to, so filling it up at the Bakery on the way to somewhere in the morning was out.

The only way I think you will be happy with it as a refillable, is if you spend a lot of time at the main pool and like the drink choices - you can refill it at the pool bar during the hours it is open.

Best wishes -

I got my CBR mug on my last trip and loved it. I got more out of it then the $11.95 I paid.

We loved walking around POR our 1st year with our mugs in the morning and refilling them on our return in the evening which is why we bought 4 at BWV our last trip thinking we would use them.... well, our room was over the old DVC office on 5th floor so it was quite the trek to refill them. We probably only used them 2 or 3 times - not worth it for us. We wish they had an area to refill them yourselves.

We had to stand in line at the bakery and then they filled a paper cup for us to put in our mugs - seemed ridiculous :confused3 We do like them as souvenirs but they have a large bottom so are not good for the car like the POR mugs.

We bought a mug at CBR. Our room was in Jamaica so it was distance from the food court. I think we only refilled it once. I still like the mug though - it's a nice reminder of our trip.

There are just some places where it is more worth it to buy one than not. Really good ones are CBR and POFQ, IMO. Not good was the BC. Did not know the situation with the BW ... I can see the BW not being good either with no place to fill it.

They are great souvenirs, though! I use mine for coffee almost every day.

Also, the "coffee" style mugs hold a little more than the wide ones. ;)

Is the lounge at the BW a place where you can refill coffee in the morning for free with these mugs? My son could run down for me. ;)

When we stayed there in May 2003, the lounge was not open during the day. They had a sign pointing you to the Boardwalk Bakery for coffee and pastries. I had heard it would be open, so this is not something you can count on. We did not buy the mugs.

I never filled my mug at BW, However.... I was not aware you can refill it at Leapin Libations? Is this true? If so maybe I would purchase another next trip. truth be told I haven't purchased one at BW, Or BC for at least 6 years for the same reasons.

I will say, I do purchase them at AKL, CSR, And every other property I have stayed at and always used them extensively.
