Have you been to the Titanic Exhibit?

Hi! I've taken a look at the permanent Titanic exhibit as an activity option for one of our non-park days during our upcoming trip.

When we were in Chicago about 15 months ago, we were able to see the traveling Titanic exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry and it was absolutely mind-blowing. They even had a full-scale replica of an outside deck, authentic down to the temperature and the night-sky constellations from that fateful evening. If you stood very still, you could feel the very slight swaying of the ship. That was one of our most poignant memories of that vacation. Most of the parts of the exhibit were multi-sensory experiences.

Anyway, from your experience, will the Orlando exhibit be a let-down? Or is it amazing as well?

Thank you!:earsboy:

Hi Kasmir -

The Titanic exhibit is wonderful - you start out with being told your name from the ticket you purchased...you are taken in to an area where you are told the history of Titanic - the ship yards where she was built, those who designed/built her. You then go to the loading area, and you get to board Titanic. You get to see tons of pictures, china, pieces of history. They have the Grand Staircase, and you do get to go out on deck there too (cold here too - quite an erie feeling, knowing what happened). You see where the iceberg hit, and then before you see things about what was done to raise the Titanic, and about the movie - you get to find out if "you" lived....there are panels with everyones name on them and it mentions whether or not "you" perished.

I thought this was a great exhibit - can't say how it will compare with what you've already seen, but I think it's worth seeing.

Hope this helps!

Thank you so much, mishoe01!

It definitely sounds like it's worth a look! :earsboy:

The exhibit is awesome. We were just there in Jan. The tour guides really add a human side to the story - they portray actual crew or passengers aboard the Titanic. I left with a real sense of awe at what the passengers experienced.

We will definitely visit again the next time we are in Florida. I would highly recommend it.

Where exactly is the exhibit?
we would love to check it out

Kayla -it's in The Mercado on I-Drive .Don't worry -you will get the info on it later in the year;)

::yes:: We were very impressed with the Titanic exhibit.

We loved it. I did get extremely emotional during the tour though. But, that's me.

DH and I are interested in going to this exhibit. I am wondering if anyone can tell me aprox. how long it takes to go through the exhibit (I kno whti sprobably varies from person to person -- but is it an ALL day thing or a few hours thing?) The reason I ask is because we will have our 8 month old DD with us and we don't want to drive her crazy in there.

Also, just out of curisoity, I am not sure I saw and answer to this question: Does the FL exhibit have the life size replica of the outer deck?

Thanks
