Congrats, BT! I'm new around here so I loved seeing your photos of the dessert party, wishes cruise and more!

:earsgirl:

Need some advice. :D

Which resort concierge level for Christmas. We can't travel back to Michigan and be with our families this year so we are going to head over to WDW.

I'm thinking WL but we have been there so many times.

Do you know if they will offer the sleigh rides again this year?

I'm excited to book my first "Florida Resident" stay. :Pinkbounc :bounce:

BT-Happy Anniversary! 20 for us next week. My nephew was born the day (the hour) we were married. I cannot believe he is 20! I'm sure my sister can't either!

Best of luck with the show!

BT Sending wishes for joy and happiness to the special couple :earsgirl: :earsboy: HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

I hope your show is a super success !

Amanda, the holiday season is a wonderful time to visit WDW--it's very festive! Of the resorts you listed, the Wilderness Lodge has the most impressive Christmas decorations, and it is also the least expensive concierge. You can go to http://www.mousesavers.com/roomrates2004.html#deluxe to view the price of concierge rooms vs. regular rooms. There is a cost difference, but the pampering is a very nice thing. :)

Basically, the main benefits of concierge are a pre-planning staff to make any priority seatings, Illuminations cruises, etc. that you would like as well as anwer any questions you might have to make your trip even more magical, upgraded toiletries (like a toothbrush and toothpaste), robes in your room, nightly turndown service is standard, a staff to assist you upon your arrival, private check-in (only at certain resorts), and a lounge with food offerings throughout the day. It's a lovely pampering experience. :)

floridafam, how exciting to book your first trip as a FL resident! As far as resorts at Christmas go, my favorite ones with the most elaborate decorations are the Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, and Animal Kingdom Lodge. Hope that helps with the decision a little bit. :)

BT ...Congrats on the anniversery and good luck with your show!

Septbride2002 When we were at the Poly this summer I think the price differnece for regular and concierge was about $100 a night...but oh sooooooooo WORTH it. We LOVED the pre planning stuff...did all mine via email, so didn't have to be on the phone all day trying to get PS. Plus the convience of the lounge (we ate breakfast almost every day there), the soda/water/juices available all the time were great too! But it is the CL CM's that are just FANTASTIC! So book concierge! (You are buying your AP's at the Disney store, right?...since you are buying early and going later)

Have a great evening all!

Bambi>> Congrats on ten wonderful years! I hope you two have a wonderful day, and that your show goes without a hitch on Sunday!

BT: HAPPY, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!
:bride: :groom:
Hope you still find time for some snuggling...even though you are busy!

I haven't written in a while, but I still have been reading! Hope all is well.... and only 15 days to go!!! Can't wait! I was thinking of asking concierge to leave a little basket of goodies for the kids, nothing too expensive...what do you think?

We will be celebrating our 10th anniversary at WDW!!! Can't wait!:bounce:

annamonte ::yes:: Definitely order something for the kids...Pins, stuffed Mickey and Minnie, some candy...I find it really ups the "good cheer" so much and will add a lot to their enjoyment AND yours! It will start things off on such a festive note:teeth: Good luck! And congratulations on your anniversary!

BT ~ Happy 10th to you. I just love fall weddings. DH and I will be celebrating our 21st on Sept. 24th. I hope you find some time in your busy weekend to do something special.

Update on the Disney florist Christmas Tree ~ I just heard back from Jennifer and the surprise on the tree is a Disney pin. You can purchase additional pins to be hidden for $6.50/each. The personalization option includes having Mickey Mouse club ears embroidered with your last name and placed as a tree topper. If you want to have ears for other members of your family, they can embroider and clip them to the tree. Another option was to purchase plush characters to place around the base of the tree. If you want to purchase any of the add-ons, you must call them directly. She didn't know why, but they are not being offered as an on-line purchase through their website. I think I'm going to select the MM ears tree topper. That's such a cute idea.

I can not think of anything I would love more than waking up with my kids in one of AKL's suites! Breakfast on Christmas morning on the balcony looking out at the animals! There is also a beautiful tree you can order that comes decorated with all mini baskets and pottery style ornaments a replica of the one in the main lobby. Someone posted pictures last year it was fabulous!!!

You never stayed at AKL correct? Do somthing differant from WL and I think you will be another AKL, convert! Honestly I think your kids will love it. Also there is somthing so magical about standing up in the lounge looking at the tree lights reflected on the glass wall of the lobby! we Love it!

Well, everything's packed and ready to go for early morning!:earseek:

floridafam...so good to see you here in the lounge!
Hope your move is going well now that Frances is gone!

I have to agree about AKL CL.
We stayed there their first Christmas, Dec 2001 during the DIS CON 1.
Simply fabulous! Nothing even comes close to explaining the colors, sounds, and scent of an African holiday!
Even their Gingerbread masterpiece was an african village replica!
complete with gingerbread animals, people, artwork.....just beautiful!
they had it in the drained area where the stream usually runs by Boma.

and their concierge services are OUTSTANDING!!!
Their suites are beautiful and spacious!::yes:: :teeth:

Ok, do I need to email IPO about the tree and adding the mickey cap and pins and other goodies?
I couldn't figure out to add on the extras on their website, so I thought I'd just call/email and let IPO handle everything!

All this talk about the AKL CL....do you know how hard it is NOT to book it instead of the GF RPC?
I need to experience the GF RPC, I need to experience the GF RPC, I need to experience the GF RPC, I need to experience the GF RPC.......

Lots of desserts and cordials out on the sideboard!
Last one out turn off the cappucino machine!:teeth:

thanks for the well-wishes!
DH and I are planning a quick getaway in a couple of weeks to
"properly celebrate" after these next two shows!:hyper:

I second waking up on Christmas morning in one of AKL's suites! Oh that would be awesome! There is even a cd player in there so you could put on some Christmas music to extend the mood of the season!

Bambi>> I think you need to "get away" in just less than three weeks! I think you need to go to Disney.... yes, I think you do!

Nighty night lounge lizards!
Debbie

Oh, I am DANCING!!:cheer2: :jumping1:

I just for the very first time heard about the Disney Dining Experience Card!!

We're staying for eight days...that's a lot of PSs!! We're definitely going to save, even if this is our only trip in a 12-month period (which I hope it won't be, but hey, this is our first family trip in 4 years!!!).

(Our family has a condo in Fort Myers, so we've got the Florida address and driver's licences...)

Wooohoooo! Makes me feel better to save something instead of blowing it shamelessly!! :teeth:

Happy, happy, joy, joy,

Kris

P.S. All you folks doing Disney right at Christmas....isn't it kind of weird not to be home? I would think I'd feel so strange. I'd miss our family, our own tree, and our own traditions, and of course, our church...I'm so happy for you that you love it, but is it an adjustment, being away? We loved being there when the decorations went up in 2000, that's why we picked this time of year this time, but for us, it's just an intro to the holidays.

BT ~ Jennifer at the Disney florist shop said that the Christmas tree extra's are not available for on-line ordering. She wasn't sure why, but said that if you wanted to do any of the add-ons, you needed to call them directly at at 407-827-3505. I'm sure that IPO should be able to handle it also.
