Have you as an adult been scared or overwhelmed on any rides?

The one ride that somewhat got to me was Dinosaur in AK - that was just getting a little too hairy for me at times and I actually ducked a couple of times as well

Space Mountain was a lot of fun but that did hit my stomach a bit - did not get a chance to try TOT or RNR but Star Tours was very funny I thought but I am glad I did not eat before

Thanks
Jason

Only ride that we were razzled by was Millenium Force at Cedarpoint. That first drop is unreal and the ride does not let up.
Our legs were shaking after our maiden voyage.

The Astro Orbiter scared me. I think it was because I rode it on a E Ride night. It was a clear night and it looked like I was going to crash into the planets. I have been riding that ride since I was 12 and it never scared me until I rode it at night:(

The first time.....My DD and I were huddled together covering our faces. She was in TEARS!!! Never again for her!
I tried again....and still screamed my head off and covered my face!!
After the third try.....NO WAY .....never again....just can't handle it!

But that ride is AWESOME!! You are going so fast you don't have time to be afraid !!! That is, unless you are frightened by the 92mph speed!!!! :jester:
But, I don't think I will be going on the new one.......415 feet straight up!!!!!!! at 125 mph!!!!!!!!

Rock and Roller Coaster at MGM. Probably because I had just had two Electric Lemonades at 50's Prime Time and I thought I was going to lose my lunch...

....the biggest scare I had ever with disney was the plane ride down and back(I dont fly anymore..nothing to do with 9-11 either...just a real bad flight experience which was enough for me)but, as far as amusement rides..the only time I was beyond intimidated, was at SixFlags Ohio...they have a coaster there called X (thats not an edit...the name is X!!!)
First, you get on this beast, and your almost standing, belts come from all around you, strap you in good and tight, then, your basically lowered back until your laying flat....you go up the climb hill backwards(head first..feet towards the ground..you crest the hill, then are flipped over, so you are FACING THE GROUND!!!(if its not obvious by now, I DONT DO HEIGHTS!!!!)Then you go down the first hill HEAD FIRST...then a series of flips this way and that, then you get to do a loop..then more facing the ground...honestly, I was not happy.I did it, but it was the only coaster I would have a hard time doing again(but if it were closer, I would be on it in a heartbeat..LOL)
Whats interesting...if your a PC gamer, RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 has the coaster layout in the game..so I get to relive the madness of this experience over and over.
kennyjo....MILLENIUM FORCE WAS AWESOME!!!!!!rode that one a few times..loved it...sorry you didnt enjoy it as much(the only part I didnt enjoy...the lift hill..lol...as long as I dont look down, Im fine.

I think, rollercoaster folks are harder to intimidate, but....some of them are like me...the heights are killer, the rides..are wonderful!!

thanks for asking this question!!!!

Well, there was that one early morning entry experience the DH & I had back in February 1997. We were barely awake when we entered Alien Encounter . . . :p

This is REALLY hard to admit and I hope no one laughs too much, but I completely freeked out a few years ago on Splash Mountain. I HATE rollercoasters. I can handle Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, but that's about it. I tried Space Mountain for the first time in over 20 years. It went ok (screamed through most of it), but I don't think I'll be heading back to it anytime soon. With this confidence I thought "If I can do that Mountain, I can do Splash". So on I go & sit in the back row. A few seconds into the ride, I begin to have a MAJOR panic attack and by the time we were coming close to the last big climb, I completely freeked out. We were stopped at the corner and I climbed out. No one in the boat that I was in or the boat behind me saw me, but since there are cameras everywhere, a CM did. I was shaking uncontrollably when the CM arrived, but she was very, very nice. She kept telling me it happens alot and led me off the ride. I felt so stupid and bad for doing what I did, but it was like I was standing outside myself watching and had lost control of my senses temporarily. The CM was so very nice and kept telling me that it was ok and that no I was not going to get thrown out of the park or anything like that. It took me a good 10 minutes to stop shaking. Now I know exactly where my limits are and that's BTMRR and none of the rest of the mountains or ToT or RNRC. I have never had that happen to me before and hopefully will never have it happen again. Please don't laugh or flame me for this.:o

That was very brave of you Terk-1 and thanks for sharing - my post was meant to stimulate discussion and sharing as well. I did not think Dinosaur or any ride would make me duck out of fear but there it is and that is part of the magic of WDW.

I heard someone else in the crowd say no way to Splash - was it the water part that you did not like or just knowing about the vertical drop?

thanks
Jason

I hate big drops. I always feel like I'm going to fall out. I LOVE Test Track, but there are no big drops and I'm pretty strapped in there.

I am such a chicken when it comes to rides like rollercoasters! I went on pretty much everything in Disneyworld except the coasters. I'm embarrassed to say that I screamed in the beginning of the Barnstormer ride!!! After I got used to it I actually enjoyed it. But that is as far as I go. I told you I was a chicken.:)

Dinosaur at AK always gets to me - I usually ride it with my eyes closed and my head down! I've never been on Alien Encounter because of what I've heard. The start on Rock n Roller Coaster makes me feel like I can't breathe, but I still go on it over and over!!

Dinosaur was awful for us. We had taken Bonine that day, but we still were motion sick. It is so rough and a little scary too. We won't be riding Dinosaur again.

Been on TOT many times but it always makes my heart race. I always look at DH and say "Why am I doing this again?" But I love it when it is done. Last trip a woman sat next to me and said "Been on this before? It's not that bad right??" I said "No it's horrible", should have seen her face - lol!

We've been to WDW every year since '94 and I went twice before meeting my DH; the only attraction/ride we have never been on is Alien Encounter. I hate anything to do with aliens and this ride gives me the creeps - I wont' even look at it when we walk by it in tomorrow land. ToT always makes my palms sweat too but I manage to go on it every visit:p

YES! I was so overwhemed on TOT that my hands turned ice cold and my heart raced. Only been on TOT once, 5 years ago. (I bought a ride photo, it's priceless. :) Trying to get the courage to ride it on my next trip. Maybe Disney should add a 'wimpy ride sequence' consisting of one drop and the ride is over! (I wish I knew how many drops were programed into the new drop sequences. Oh, well.)

I'll usually go on it once every visit, but I do not enjoy Space Mt. I find myself holding on for dear life and ducking the entire ride. Even though it's dark, you can still see vague outlines of the track. I always feel like I'm going to be decapitated on that ride!

Rockin Roller coaster took my breath away, only rode it once and could never get the nerve up to ride again. Every trip I try to talk myself into it, but cant forget how scared I was during the fast take off of the ride. I enjoyed everything after the launch.
