Have to be onsite to get an A&E meet FP+ now?

As an AP holder I looked my fasspast+ options for the date that just came to my 30 days window, and A&E meet is already 'Standby only', does that mean I really need to stay onsite(60 days advance FP+ selection) to be able to grab a FP+ spot for A&E meet?

My trip is not until the week of Aug 25, but need to plan otherwise if that's what I have to do to meet A&E. We just went in April before A&E move to MK, and were not able to meet them. And I really don't want to disappoint the kids this time. Any suggestion will be appreciated!

Thanks for the tip. If I only book one night, with my AP, will it allow me to FP+ the rest of the days 60 days in advance too? Thanks again.

Yes, it should do. Otherwise, have you only looked at the first day on your 30 days out? Have you tried further in? Even at 60 out with an onsite stay A&E were blanked out for the first 4-5 days of our trip, despite me logging on at midnight EST. There was plenty choice after that, as I got further away from the initial 60 day mark. I know that is 60 vs your 30 but have you checked it?

I don't want to say yes, because I don't want to be wrong. Hopefully someone that knows for sure can give you a better answer. :-/

I looked at the last couple days that just came to my 30 days window(supposed to be open for FP+ selection for the less time/fewer people so far), in my case around May 30. Both A&E meet and Sever dwarf train are gone.

I think a Sever Dwarf train would be cool.

Yep, it seems A&E is for elite guests only. Total BS, and we stay onsite.

I'd book a RO res for 7 days, with the last 2-3 falling on your planned trip dates. Make your FP+s 60 days out, cancel the res once you're in 30 days.

I will only let you book for check in through check out.

When I booked at 60+ for A&E I was not able to get a reservation for the first 6 days of my trip. I know they released more FP after I did my original reservations, but you will most likely need to book more than one night onsite in order to get the FP for A&E.

Thanks a lot for the tip. I will be curious to know if I cancel once in 30 days, is the system smart enough(or stupid enough) to cancel the FP+ res I made earlier... nowadays do not know what expectations I should have for DME/FP+...

Hey now, don't give more credit to Disney IT than its due ;)

It doesn't cancel the FP+s last I heard from someone who did this. But even if somehow, someday they did something about it, there's really nothing to lose - except those elite FP+s you wouldn't have gotten anyway :)

I am thinking of split stay with 1st night at Swans(eligible for 60 ADR) using my SPG points.
Once in 60 days window If I find that it only let me reserve check in/out dates and those 2 dates do not have A&E and 7 dwarfs available, I will immediately book one more night at Swans until I get Are and 7 dwarfs. Any comments or suggestions for my plan?

Seems an example of exact what Disney is pushing customers to do, more on site hotel nights sold. But I am going to make the beneficiary SPG...
