Have tix/spend $$ for room 1 night???

WDW regulars & DVC members. Never went to IOA w/kids but have a HP fan now so want to go w/9 & 7 year old in June. I purchased tix--many years ago for 5 days & kids free so have tix to use. Thinking of adding a day on to our trip & spending Friday, 6/1 at a Univ hotel (in order to have early pass access & get the FP type things). WOW $299/night! Plan is to go Thurs ...(all day )then go back to Beach Club that night as we have ressie , swim the a.m. on Friday. Check in at Univ. hotel Friday afternoon & go to park to see what we missed & go back Sat. a.m. before heading home in the afternoon. Are there any other 1 night discounts (besides AAA)? Does going thru DU have any advantage (have used them before & very pleased)? This will be our summer vacation & we will have spent 8 days at WDW (have AP's/take food so doing it kind of cheap). Kids AP's expire 5/30 so wanted to do something different but NOT USE to spending that kind of $$$ for 1 night even if we have the tix paid for. ANy/advice help is appreciated!

if you could do the UO onsite stay during the week.....m-th, the hotel rates are cheaper than the weekend.

Like macraven said if you stay on a weekday it would be cheaper. What if you did your US day before WDW? Just like at WDW, a US visit is just better if you stay on site. All the resorts are great, but I think usually the RPR is most cost effective, and it is a gorgeous resort, AND it is close enought to walk back to for an afternoon swim break!
