Have they homogenized Boma's too much?

How is the breakfast at Boma?

If you are at AKL (Jambo or Kidani) it's a nice way to start your day. It isn't too much different than any other breakfast buffet, IMO. We had a 7:30AM ADR and it was pretty quiet throughout our meal.

We had both breakfast and dinner at Boma last month. My fiance and I both found more than enough to fill us up (she has a peanut/treenut allergy and a chef came out and took her around the buffet and went over every dish/sauce/dessert to tell her what was safe for her and what wasn't). The food was very good (especially when compaired to other buffets). It's deffinately a place we would eat at again if we were staying in the area. We paid OOP and I think it was something like $32.95 per person plus tax and tip.

If you are skeptical about Boma, have you considered Sanaa over at Kidani. The prices are pretty reasonable and the food is tastey. The 2 of us shared the bread service and each had the pick-2 from the slow cooked menu and were stuffed.

Everyone's got their opinions. Some people love Boma, others hate it. I've read tons of reviews and opinions on Boma and do you know what? Me, my wife and two boys will be there for dinner on 12/2. I can't to try it and formulate my own opinion.

:thumbsup2
Agreed....We are trying it for breakfast in a few weeks...getting excited! popcorn::

We are a Boma loving family. Love the fact that my meat loving husband and son are able to find lots of tasty food at the same time the vegetarian of the family (me) has more than enough to eat. My favorite thing on the buffet are the selections of hummus. So good! Our daughters are 1 and 2, but what my 2 year old tried she liked. Especially, the peanut butter rice.

Can't wait to try the breakfast there.

Whoa, where's the hummus? I don't even remember it.

If we start from the right and go (more or less) meats, entrees, soups, salads, fruits/veggies, breads, and desserts, where along there is the hummus? Do you remember?

Near the breads. Last time we had dinner there (Feb 2010) they had four kinds out. I remember trying all of them, but the ones that stuck out were the roasted red pepper and olive hummus.

Well I think differently, the only thing I can complain about regarding Boma is the price, especially if you have kids that are 10.

I would agree. Don't base your decision on one negative, or for that matter one positive review.

While there are definitely pressures to tone down restuarants for the "meat and potatoes" crowd, Boma still retains enough of its "African flavours" to make it the best buffet at WDW in my family's opinion.

I have always felt we all place too much stock in other people's opinions. The only person who knows what you like is you. Go and try it for yourself.

agreed. i only had one bite of mine and gave the rest to my husband.

I didn't like the zebra domes at all. I took one bite and the liqueur was sooo strong I wanted to spit it out. I was extremely disappointed as I had heard so much hype about them and was expecting nirvana in my mouth.

I loved the hummus too! There were 3 different types, a plain one, a roasted red pepper, and a black olive one. They were all delicious and I dd go back for seconds of the lavosh and hummus. It was right next to the pita and lavosh between the breads and salads.
