I haven't heard the definitive word yet. I thought I read recently that someone saw the stand open again. Anybody recently have one? :flower:

Wow I'm from canada and I've never even tasted those

I know what they are and they do smell delicious...And gladly they have them around so I will get to try them and see what all that fuss is about....

Well it's nice to know we canadians have something that is hard to find in the US...I keep tell DH that I think I must of been american in another life!!!!

You guys have the best tv shows, magasines shops, and restaurants......I am so jealous!!!!

Me too, Ive seen them in Ottawa during the summer, The CNE in Toronto always has them and they are in Winnipeg. However if you have ever had Elephant Ears its the same thing

Sadly, they weren't there when we were at Epcot on Sunday.....

DW was just asking me that last night. I thought I had read somewhere they were brought back. They sure would taste good on a cool day.

I call it the Canadian version of a funnel cake, although they are not even similar. It's this big piece of fried dough that you can put different toppings on. My fave was cinnamon sugar and it was like eating a huge piece of cinnamon toast. They were outside Canada in World Showcase but they recently closed.

I just had a Beaver Tail last Friday night at a hockey game in our hometown. The Beaver Tail I ate had chocolate sauce on it. It was delicious!!

According to the Beaver Tail signs, they are a relatively healthy food! They are made with whole wheat flour and not deep fried but baked. I can't imagine how many calories, carbohydrates or grams of fat my Beaver Tail had, but I sure enjoyed eating it! I decided I had better have one at the game since they are no longer available at Epcot. All the talk on these boards about them had given me a craving for one!!

One of my summer jobs was working at an Elephant Ear stand that was taken around to different events, fairs etc in the London Ont. area. Ours were a deep fried dough, with a choice of cinnamon sugar, lemon, or apple-butter with cinammon. Apple Butter was by far my favourite.

I had never heard of them before that, and haven't seen them much since. I've never heard of baking them - would be interested in trying a baked one - ours could never be considered good for you, but they were sooooo tasty!
