Have reservations... room only can I arrive a day later

can I cancel the first day of my vacation...my plans changed and have to go a day later?

You would need to call and change your arrival date. If you just show up that second day you would find your reservation has cancelled.

Well, it depends on what time you arrive. They will hold reservations until 10am or so before checking them out. You can also call and let them know at the resort that you will not arrive until the next day. If you do this, you will loose your deposit (since you are still paying for that first night), but at least you're sure to have a clean room when you arrive.

It depends - when are you going? If you booked with CRO, you have until 6 days before to change your reservation without penalty. If you are more than 6 days away, you can just drop the first day with no problems.
