For a huge letdown? We leave for a week at WDW in 3 weeks. :yay:

I have been planning this trip for over 2 years and I cannot believe it is almost here. After all the planning and anticipation, am I going to be in for a disappointment once we finally get there?

Oh, goodness, I hope not! Now you get to laugh and play with your family and watch them smile. Now that you've done all this work, you can bury it in your subconscious and pay attention to the more important stuff-having a blast with your loved ones. I'm guessing you will have a wonderful time as long as you go expecting a nice time at an amusement park with your family. I believe in Disney magic but I don't expect it to fix my problems or create miracles. But I know they are really good are entertaining me and feeding me and allowing me to relax...and for that, I am eternally grateful!

NO WAY!! If you have planned and have a least a little bit of the knowledge available on this board you will do just fine!!! Be prepared for those plans to change... if you have it set in your mind that everything will go perfectly according to the plans you have made.... that leaves room for feeling like you have failed. You will have an amazing time and make so many memories from this vacation that those little mishaps wont mean a thing! Even some of our crappy luck or bad ideas end up being pretty funny memories .. its all in how you look at it! Have fun!!!

Have a plan but don't be afraid to change it if you need to. Relax and enjoy things. Don't think you have to do everything or you'll drive yourself crazy!

Let your self enjoy the magic of wdw - be a kid again. Listen to what the others in your group want out of the trip. Go to pool and relax. Take advantage of the things you've learned - the fastpass, be there at opening if possible, take breaks, drink lots of water, relax!

You'll have a great trip and will want to start planning your next trip before you even get home!

:goodvibesI understand what you mean. I'm a HUGE planner myself and half the fun of the trip is me getting to plan it! Here's my advice, make sure you take the time to look at EVERYTHING! This really helped to relax me so that I wasn't disappointed with all my planning. I know that sounds crazy but it's true! I took the time to look at all the buildings, the flowers, the theming on the rides, the hotel, everything. If you really take the time to just let it all soak in, you will not be disappointed! Also, take tons of pictures! For me, that's one of my favorite things to do after the trip, look at everything we did. Have an awesome time and don't worry about the let-down after all your planning!:goodvibes

Thanks for the replies! I do have a touring plan, have made my ADRs and have been reading these boards for quite a while. I am definitely ready! I have designed my plan to be flexible (aside from ADRs, etc.) and will go with the flow---I have a four year old who will definitely let it be known what she wants to do!
I just don't know what I am going to do when the planning is over! :rotfl:

Don't worry....by the time you get there the crowds should be a LOT better!! I have gone in the beginning of May before and it was GREAT!!:thumbsup2

When the trip is over you write a trip report and start planning the next trip!:goodvibes

I know exactly what you're saying as I'm going through it right now too. We're 3 weeks away also and I'm consumed with my plans and thoughts of vacation, I keep saying to DH "ok what am I going to do after vacation?" I've spent the last year planning. I know our vacation will be great even if my plans go awry, I'll probably do a trip report just to decompress from my last year of disney planning. Then...I'll start planning the next trip of course! Have a great trip!

I don't think you will be disappointed when you get there. You should have fun as all your planning becomes reality. Live in the moment and soak it all up.

Now going home is another story. I always have a bit of post trip depression. The only thing I have found that helps is having another trip or two on the horizon to plan. Maybe that's why I travel so much!:rotfl2: Writing a trip report is a wonderful idea as well as scrapbooking, organizing your digital photos, spending time on the boards helping others who have trips coming up.

Have a great trip!!!

You've done everything to make your trip as magical as it can be.

As long as you understand that yes, there will be times when everything doesn't go according to plan, sometimes there will be waits, sometimes the buses may be really crowded, you may run into people who are less than magical and that even though Disney is the most magical place on earth, it is still here on earth, then you WILL most definately not be dissappointed and you WILL have a fantastic time. Enjoy your trip!!! :)

HUH?? How could you be dissappointed lol! You will have a great time!

Have fun :)

Well if I may tell a little story...Our first trip, I was a lot like you..I spent soooo much time researching everything to be such a perfect trip. I knew the best places to eat, the best rides to see, the best spots to watch parades and fireworks, where to watch the shows at and on and on and on....well halfway thru our vacation while waiting for Fantasmic to start (in great seats where we didnt have to wait for 2 hrs b/c I knew to book the dinner package) DH is tired and grumpy, DD is tired and grumpy, whiny, and crying because I won't let her buy a 4th light up toy, and I start BAWLING my eyes out because I swear no-one appreciated all my hard work LOL! :rotfl: I think we had all reached our limit and really needed a break. :headache::rolleyes1 So don't forget to stop, smell the roses, relax and unwind a bit too...after all it is a vacation!!

I think with anything that you plan for a long time, the anticipation can exceed the actual event. Think about planning your perfect wedding but things don't always go exactly how you planned it. There's always something, even if it's minor, that wasn't in your visions of the perfect day. Once you realize that the Disney trip of your dreams and the one you actually take are going to be two different things, you'll be fine. You aren't going to be disappointed because you will have a good time. But if you are dreaming that you will get a towel animal every day, your kids will never get upset, YOU will never get upset, everyone will be nice and kind to you, well, you will be let down.

Just be realistic!

:rotfl::lmao: EXACTLY!!!!!!!

You won't be dissapointed, it's Disney!
Just make sure and enjoy every single minute that you are there because it will be over before you know it. I'm sure any of us Disers would trade places with you crowds or not so just relax , take a deep breath and smile because you are headed to the happiest place on earth.
