Working at the animal hospital that is???
Last night we got in a baby bobcat, a baby raptor(maybe a red tailed hawk but it's hard to tell when they are that tiny!) It is the most beautiful creature I have ever seen!!, 1 tiny raccoon and an American Kestrel. Currently in residence we have 3 juvenille Great Horned Owls and a Hare.
This is the most amazing job... the other day we got in a Coopers Hawk with a wing fracture that we had to put down, actually I've seen alot of things put down in the last couple of months, but it was so amazing to learn the anatomy of it all through hands on experience.
So far I've had the chance to feed and medicate baby squirrels and raccons and tons of baby birds. Plus I am doing things I neevr thought I'd have the stomach to do... like cut open rats, clean FILTHY cages and handle worms...plus all of the fatalities we see. I really suprise myself everytime I go there.
I HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest you all get out and volunteer to do something you love. It is such a rich and rewarding experience.
I am such a lucky person
