After reading Tikimann's website I am thinking about paying the extra for the concierge but I have a few questions. Can anyone please help me? 1) Is the soda and water available all the time? Is the soda just in a cup or can we still buy the souvenirs mugs and use them here? 2) I am really worried about smell that everyone is talking about. Does anyone have room numbers of 1st floor GV that DO NOT smell? We need 2 rooms. 3) How does check-in go? Where do I go? 4) What exactly does the personal vacation planning person do? like arrange for your priority seating? or like gift baskets?? I have always wanted to be pampered and I think this might be the best way!!!

Thanks Much Chellie

We stayed at Poly Concierge in Nov. and we would not do it again because our expierence was not the greatest. Many other people have loved it though, so don't let me discourage you.
The soda & water are available all day long, also there is a refridge in your room, so you can take stuff back and store it there. The juice is in dispensers so you could use the resort mugs. The concierge staff can take care of PS's & special requests, although we did not find them to be very helpful. But like I said, if you really want to try it, don't let me discourage you as others love it.

The water and pop is always available in individual cans and bottles. There isn't a fountain so the mugs are only useful if you want to pour the poop into them:) . Our room did not smell at all. We were in the first floor near the far end (away from the concierge desk). They will make PSs for you, though I prefer making my own...don't know about baskets. You tell the bellhops that you're staying concierge and they call and see if your room was ready. They will drive you back to Hawaii.

Whoops.. I guess I should have previewd my answer. Sorry all. Can a moderator edit it for me?

Besides the soda an water, you can also get fresh fruit all day as well.
If you ask the resort planners to make your PS for you, it will show up on the computer that you are a concierge guest. You may get a better table. I had great tables at every dinner that concierge made a PS for me. Right on the water at San Angel and next to the window at O'Hanas. Could be a plus to have them make your PS arrangements.

Our room was close to the lobby in Hawaii on the first floor. Maybe it's better down the hall!

I don't know anything about a gift basket. Never saw one.

Tell valet/bellhop when you arrive that you are concierge. They will take you to where you need to go.

WALT DISNEY WORLD...BEEN THERE...DONE THAT...GOING BACK!!

The sodas are in cans, and are available throughout the day (as long as the lounge is open... usually 7AM - 10PM). There is also bottle water (usually not very cold), snacks, and fruit available throughout the day. We found the breakfast to be nice as we generally don't eat much... (continental breakfast - pastries, english muffins, cold cereal). The concierge staff will make priority seatings for you, dinner shows, etc. The concierge staff is ok, not the greatest. When you arrive at the resort, tell the bellman that you are staying in the concierge building, they will call and see if your room is ready. If it is, they will drive you there in a golf-cart thingy with your bags, will show you your room, then you can go to the concierge desk and they will check you in. Yes, it is nice to have "free" juice, snacks, Coke, and bottled water, but it does come with a price.

We moved resorts after 3 days of asking if something could be done about the smell. The coincierge staff didn't do a thing. We moved to AKL concierge for the same price thankfully and had a much better experience. We were 3rd floor but walked through the first floor on our way back from the TTC and it even smelled worse. AKL concierge told us they were closing down those buildings for renovation because of the mold problem. BLECH! Plus I got a rash on my feet from walking in the lake! The conceirge lounge staff was always friendly and the breakfast and snacks were tasty but like I said we WILL not stay there again.
