Have ever received something extra you did not order in your delivery?

The only "extra" items I remember receiving are the little gifts (from small shops) some send as a special thank you.

I ordered one Koehler kitchen faucet and received 3 from Expo, a former division of Home Depot. When I tried to return the other 2 they were in the middle of closing the store and never responded.

Gave one to my mother and the other to a contractor associate.

For Black Friday '19 I ordered a Gold D23 subscription for DH's Christmas gift. It was 1/2 price, $70 instead of $140. It came with a pin set and the quarterly book/magazine.

D23 sent me 2 pin sets and 5 of the quarterly magazines... so far :)

The pin set goes for $100+ right now, and the magazines around $20 each. Not bad for $70 plus we watched a bunch of their shows thru the pandemic. I called them about the 2nd pin set and they told me to keep it.

There were problems initially... First they charged me the full $140 and when I tried to get that fixed via email the automated response cancelled the D23 membership 'as requested'? So at that point I double paid and 'voluntarily' cancelled before any shipments went out, lol. Maybe the double pins were intentional? When I finally spoke to someone they were very apologetic and said they intend on sending the paper trail of this occurrence to management in a different department. They reinstated the year subscription and refunded the extra $70 charged.

I've had this happen a few times. Most often it's the Disney Store. They once sent me a Tinkerbell beach towel. Another time I ordered one of their personalized fleece blankets. They sent me the wrong princess.

The one that was the biggest pain was an order I made from American Girl. In 2012 they were getting ready to release a new historical doll. They offered a preorder for her collection. I ordered one thing, her big item that had a $300 price tag. They shipped me one and I had it in hand before the official release. When the collection was released they sent me a second one! I didn't have the need or space for two. Like many other stores, American Girl's normal policy is to tell the customer to donate it. This one they wanted back. Between waiting for the return label and getting FedEx to pick it up, it took a week to get the giant box out of my house.

I order Amazon fresh groceries and one time I got a bag that was meant for someone else with a lot of stuff we wouldn’t eat including Vienna sausages, my kids wanted to try them. I got a kick out of watching them take the first bite and gag 😂. I used to eat them as a kid but just smelling them turned me off.

When ordering from some Etsy artists, they sometimes throw in minor freebies. I bought a swell set of Disney villainess prints from a Russian artist, and I got a free sticker. That and some Ebay sellers have done the same. Some have sent the wrong item and just told me to keep it.

Nothing free from Amazon. If it did happen, I wouldn't be surprised if it was something useless or unwanted like a staple organizer, a Kathy Lee Gifford CD, or a tube of anal wart cream.

I would have joined just for those pins! I considered joining this year for some of the items.

I remember liking those as a kid, too. I even bought them for DS once. - I don't know what I was thinking! (And neither did he. 😆 )

in a pinch looking for stocking stuffers i used to turn to 'thinkgeek'. dh is a monty python fan so when i saw a small illustrated tin of 'wafer thin mints' for around $4 i added it to my order. whomever was in the shipping department when that order was packed must not have understood that an order of 1 meant 1 individual tin, not 1 box. i ended up with 1 box containing a dozen tins. thinkgeek said to keep them (we still have unopened tins several years later-they have a spectacular shelf life).

Macy’s sent me 2 comforters when I only ordered one. They came on 2 different days in December. The weird thing is a friend sent me 2 of the same Christmas cards and I got the 2nd one on the same day that I got the 2nd comforter. It was like a scene from the matrix or something.

Sounds like the Disney store has issues.. no wonder we pay 19.99 for flip flops lol
