Have dining plan, but I was charged

We are leaving in a while to go to WDW. I have the dining plan, but when I made a couple of reservations for dinner (Cinderella's Castle and 50's diner) I was asked for a credit card. I was told that it was a deposit, but nothing was going to be charged... but,I found that my card was charged. WHY? What can I do about it?

Call and let them know. They should credit the account back. If not call your credit card company and let them it is a mistaken charge. I believe this was proably an error though because we were never charged and I held 3 ressies with a CC.

Neither of those dinners require a credit card deposit or guarantee? How much was the charge for?

Actually call and ask Disney Dining - I was charged for CRT (which I understood from the CM when making the ressie!) and I think for H&V because I want the fdp!!

I know when you show up and use the dining plan, they will credit back your card, but some here on the Dis have posted they get it credited when they speak to Dining (I think!)

I was asked for a cc for CRT told that I would not be charged unless I did not cancel by the deadline, I made sure that they knew I was on the dining plan but now I will check my account...

I have ressies for both of these as well...I'm also using the Dining Plan...they didnt ask for a credit card at all. I'd call and see whats going on.

I made my CRT ressie, when I knew we were going, but wasn't sure if we were staying onsite with the dining plan. Once we booked onsite with dining, I called to make a few other ADR's and I told the CM, and she had my cc credited for the CRT deposit.

'cause it prompted me to check my cc statement online... and i found a charge for $151.27! i booked two ressies the other day (HDDR and PSB) that required my cc, so i am guessing that it is one or the other or both... BUT we have the dining plan and i was not planning on paying for the meals on my card!

what's the best course of action to get it reversed?

This same thing happened to me when I booked HDR and Spirit of Aloha dinners. I used my Mac/visa card (which my gut feeling told me not to) checked my statement that day and found $300 charge. I immediately called Disney and they canceled my old reservation, she said the girl did it incorrectly and it should have just been a hold and not a charge. She then rescheduled me for the exact same times with a different credit card just being on hold(she checked to make sure the same times were available before she canceled the other out) The next morning I called my bank when they opened and they took the hold off the money after I explained the situation and told them I put it on another credit card and cancelled the reservation. My bank didn't have a problem with it at all. But I was nervous cause I thought I was going to start bouncing checks or something.

I made my ADR for CRT, and I was told the the CC was a hold (I am on the Dining Plan). I double and triple checked my CC account, and nothing was charged. Maybe I was lucky, and got a CM who knew the details, but I have been vigilant on my CC since I called, just to make sure. No charges yet, and trip is less than 60 days away.

Same thing with me about CRT.... I also booked and paid for the HDDR and when I added the dining plan at a later date they credited my card back for both....

I would call ASAP and ask... And they should just credit back your cc...

i'm on hold w/them now...

okay, all fixed... they are reversing the cc charge asap... thanks again to the op for starting this thread, i might not have thought to look otherwise
