I found this on another site and thought I'd share it here.


I am only six years old,
you won't remember me
but there's something very special
I would like beneath my tree..
In September I lost my daddy..
He had to go away..
The angels came and took him
very early in the day..

I know that you can't change this,
that's how it has to be..
But won't you please -
can't you please -
bring mommy back to me?

She hasn't really left you know -
her body is still here -
but her eyes no longer sparkle,
they just overflow with tears..

She slowly walks from room to room
as I follow with these words -
I say, "I love you mommy"
but my voice is never heard..

She sits down in the parlor
in my daddy's easy chair
and talks to him for hours -
even though he isn't there..

My mommy used to sing to me
and hug me oh so tight!
Now she hugs her pillow
while she sobs, "It isn't right.."

I know that I'm not daddy
and I could never take his place,
but if mommy would only let me
I would try to fill the space..

I can see her heart is breaking -
my own hurts real bad too -
but I am only six years old -
I don't know what to do..

So it's this that I would wish dear Santa
beneath my Christmas tree -
won't you please -
can't you please -
bring mommy back to me?
