I am a little upset because I made reservations at California Grill at 7:20- only time they had available - to coincide with the 9PM Wishes that night. Now they have added another MNSSHP and it will be tough to keep the kids up that late to see the FW! This is the one meal of the entire trip I planned to coincide with the Fireworks so I am not happy about it.
Do you think if we show up at 7:30 they would be able to give us a window seat and we could just stretch it out over the 2 hours?

thanks for any advice.

Show up 10 minutes after your reservation and get a window seat, probably not.

Show up a good 30 minutes or more early and ask for one and be willing to hang around and wait, then you may have a chance.

You do not have to stretch your meal, you can go, eat, then walk around the Contemporary and show your receipt to get back up and watch the fireworks if you really want to see them from up there.

I was there in december, had a 7:20 ADR on a christmas party night. They actually told us that if we were done with dinner before the fireworks we could come back. I think they do this now to keep people from defending tables until the fireworks.

I'd get there shortly after 7 as they suggest, and check in. Ask if you can do this, I'm pretty sure that they will let you. Have dinner at your normal pace. When you're done, and if there is time to kill before the show, leave. Go scope out the contemporary, visit the gift shops or whatever you need to do to keep the kids going. At a little after 9, go back to the podium, and head back to the CG. Go out to the deck, where the best views are. Get out there 20 minutes early to get a spot near the rail (it fills up as the show starts).

I actually think this is a better plan because it eliminates the need for a window seat and you don't have to worry about timing the meal so the fireworks don't start right after your food arrives.

hello...GazerBeam...if you don't mind me asking...Is this what you guys did? Or was your meal spaced out enough that you could view from your table? Last time we were there we did not get a window seat but it was still nice to get a partial view of the FW without having to leave the table. I found the observation deck a bit crowded and noisy.

thanks for you help!
