I understand that if we utilize the pre-visit "reservation" system for rides, RoR is not part of that system, but can we still do a return time for it?

Rise of the Resistance is one of the attractions that has Individual Lightning Lane available to pay for. It also has a Standby waiting line. You can get a DAS Return Time for it, which will be based on the current wait time in the Standby Line.
None of the Individual Lightning Lane attractions are part of the DAS Advance Selections.

The only attraction in the Individual Lightning Lane category that is different at this point is Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. For that, you need to get a space in the Virtual Queue the same as other guests - check in using the My Disney Experience app at 7am before arriving at the park or 1pm while at EPCOT.
You will get a message when your boarding group is called and will have about 30 minutes to get there. Let a CM at the entrance know you are using DAS when you get there and they will let you in using a shorter line (Lightning Lane)

If it has a standby line option, you can get a return time so you can still utilize DAS with ROR, you just cant pre-select it prior to your trip!
