Have a question about AKL !!!!!!!!!!!

My DH and I would really like to stay at AKL. He thinks that it is further away then most of the resorts from everything!!! Is this the case????? Thanks in advance for your help!!!!!!!

Yes it is.
But it is a lovely resort with plenty to do right there!

The buses take you directly to the parks - no stops at other resorts. Getting to MK takes the longest. Once you depart from AKL it takes 15-17 minutes;
Bus to Epcot takes I think 7 min. bus to AK takes less than 5! Bus to MGM takes only about 5, I think;
AKL is absolutely fabulous! I used to stay ONLY at GF and did get spoiled by the 3-min. monorail ride to MK but other than that,transportation wasn't exactly excellent.
If you want to stay there, GO FOR IT! Plus, it's a resort that really lends itself to taking it easy...I don't go COMMANDO when I'm there

Yes, it's farther away, but as the previous poster mentions, the bus service everywhere is direct. We've stayed at AKL, YC, & WL. It drove us crazy riding the bus to pick up/drop off passengers at other resorts when we were staying at YC & WL. AKL transportation is wonderful. Unless you are only planning to go to one park, the benefits of staying close to that park are diminished.

Also, you don't feel isolated when you're there. Plenty of restaurants and activities. It's like having two trips in one!

We did not care for it's location. We felt it took a very long time to get everywhere except AK. It could be that we did not like it more because we paid for a savannah room and got a view of 2 giraffe and a dumpster. We were above some sort of kitchen as well and it smelled like different kinds of foods mixed together, it was weird. Not nauseting but wierd! I remember sitting on the bus to DD and thinking "Good grief this is taking a long time!" We won't stay there again.
