Have a Photopass Question? Ask me!

Just returned from WDW and NONE of our ride photos are appearing on the PhotoPass website. Am I doing something really dumb, or are they really missing? Even the one ride that I went to the counter and tapped my MB for (Test Track) is missing. It was at that point that the CM told me I didn't have to tap the band anymore, so I didn't for the rest of the trip. I'll fill out the lost photo's page (10x) but I feel like I'm missing a tab on the screen.

Did you purchase MM in advance? If you don't have MM, the only option for getting the ride photos is at the ride itself.

And if you did have MM, is it linked to your account? If it isn't the ride photos won't show up. You can see Memory Maker Download All, your memory maker is linked. If not it is not.

Thanks to this thread and ChanaC. I ordered MM and managed to grab 429 photos (including ride photos & magic shots) on my solo trip. Now heading home, will download the photos later. Edit it and order the archive CD as a memory to keep!!

Oh, btw, for those overseas guests ordering MM they will ask you to pickup at Will Call. If you have magic band. You don't need to bother to pickup. Only those doesn't have magic band, you will need the RFID card for scanning.

And if you need to pickup, Guest Relation at each park is where you need to go. The resort concierge doesn't have hard card for tickets and MM.

Okay, I feel so silly for asking-I have two conflicting impressions of how Memory Maker will link to ride photos. One is that at the end of the ride, I'll look at the screens and say, oh, ours is 16-B and then I'll have them scan my bracelet. The other is that I'll go on the ride and walk right out of the photo area knowing my photo is already linked.

PRETTY SURE the former is right, but can anyone clear it up for me, please?

Actually, the latter is right. Your band will get scanned where the picture is taken.

The words former and latter always confuse me..

I just returned home and used MM extensively for 11 days. I, nor anyone in our group, ever had to scan our bands for ride photos. Every night I'd check our account and all photos were magically there. For ToT there were even videos of our ride.

Okay okay-so just to make sure I don't miss the vital step to get the pics, did you scan your bracelet at all at the attractions? Obv you would if it was your fast pass + choice, but if it wasn't, what then?

All you have to do is ride the ride. No scanning at all ever.

Okay. I want to make sure DH and I are ready for our October trip.

I am the registered MDE person. DH does not have an MDE account but he is listed on my friends and family. I am going to pre-order the MM through the MDE link so it should be automatically linked to my MDE which means it will already be linked to our magicbands (is that correct?). So we can scan my magicband or DH's and the pics will show up (is that correct?).

Or am I looking at this wrong and only my band will "collect" photos?

Thanks for your help everyone.

Hi Will the MM only be linked to my band or will it be linked to everyone in my friends and family? Example, I am the main person for the account. Do I need to be with my son for his picture to automatically be captured on a ride?
Also, Can I link my sister in law's family and not be with them at the same rides but still capture all of our photos? Thanks!

Hi there! Your first question is actually something I ask myself multiple times a day. I personally don't believe in "boy" things or "girl" things but at the same time I don't want a boy to be embarrassed or upset when he looks at his photo and sees Tinkerbell. I feel that most magic shots are more girl centered (Tink, wings, butterflies). The Simba shots can be challenging also since it is a male character but to do the pose correctly they have to look like they are holding a doll or a baby. Generally, I do the same poses for all kids 8ish or under since at that age Tink and Simba can still be cool. There is also the single butterfly shot which is easy for younger kids so I hope the parents think it's cute, boy or girl. Generally everyone likes the Chip ones. If I see a pre-teen or teen boy I will generally do one of the Stitch shots or the balloons. The new Jiminy Cricket shot it also good for boys. It all depends on the location and the photographer. If you ask specifically for it and we are in a location where that shot is approved we can definitely do it for you. Just say please!

Question 2: As soon as you get off the ride you will see your photo and the station where the photo can be added. Just make sure to mention that you have MM if you have it. If you do not have magic bands make sure to have the MM card with you. If not, you can purchase a download or print. It depends on the day and time but from my understanding the lines are never too horrible. If you bought MM make sure to get it since you already paid for it.

As another note, make sure you get the photo as soon as you get off the ride. Please don't come up to us at the photopass view stations in the front of the park. The attractions photos and the photopass photos work on two different systems so the only thing we can do is send you back to the attraction.

Here is a list of the attractions with photos:

MK: Buzz Lightyear, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain
Epcot: Test Track
Studios: Tower of Terror, Rockin Roller Coaster
AK: Expedition Everest, Dinosaur

Hope that helps!

I don't know how specific Disney policy is regarding poses for Magic shots, but it seems like boys who needed persuading could be asked to pose like Peter Pan and Tink could hover over their shoulder?

Just my .02, possibly not helpful.

In our experience I needed to link MM to my MDE account myself. It was not automatically linked.

My husband does not have his own MDE acct. he is listed under my friends and family and his band worked for rides and other photo ops.

Two of my sons have their own MDE accts, they are listed under my friends and family. Their bands worked for rides and other photo ops too.

HTH

Nope. The magic poses are very specific. The photographer doesn't add the magic, so there'd be no way to communicate that.

Ran into just the worst people today... Just so rude and thought the photopass guy was his families personal photo shoot... Group shots, individual shots, then shots with just two people, then another two... And just taking there time on top of it... Said something to them and their reply was "this is what we do we take pictures" yeah no kidding and I'm not in line for my health you jack hole!!! People be ready be courteous and if you want a few pics at least have the people all prepped... And to his comment of don't worry you are almost next I say no sh*t I would have been done 10 minutes ago if you would get your pics fast and move on... Literally was second in line and when they finished there was a line of ten people behind me... This was after hours and I hope that idiot is reading this!! You are a rude and hope all your pics turn to pixie dust :)

For the OP and others who have had impressively nice photos, I was wondering if there are any tips for getting dressed that don't compromise park-trekking comfort but still help photos to turn out just *that* much nicer? We very rarely have family photos done, and I'd love for some of our photos to be nice enough for the "nice displays" in our house.

If anyone has a tip they learned from experience to add, I'd love to see any photos from your trip, too! I'm a visual learner. Thanks in advance! <3

Sorry if this has been asked. Are there any places to get Guardians of the Galaxy magic shots? Specifically Rocket Raccoon??
