have a favour for y'all (dd needs postcards)

Will Katie get to keep all the post cards adressed to her? Then she could do a scrapbook for it..................:) So glad it is going so well for her. Love reading about all that she has received.

well, I was going to take pictures of kate and the post cards (and talent show rehersals) but I managed to break the camera before I could do that. (water bottle in purse exploded and I didn't notice until the camera had been sitting in water for a few hours.... ) Anyhow, kate said that her class was up to 92 postcards as of friday. :D Now I just have to find the disposable camera I bought.... maggie

I sent a postcard Saturday morning and another one today. I'm e-mailing my friends and relatives in Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia and Florida to ask them to send postcards as well. Also, we'll be in Memphis March 13 and 14 so we'll send three from there if it's not too late.

My daughter's class did something like this when she was in first grade. At first the idea was for the children to learn about our state. The teacher thought it would be a good idea for the children to get a few postcards from around our state from relatives. This is where I came in. ;)

I was working at the time, and one of my co-workers had a daughter who was a flight attendant. Suddenly my child's class was getting a deluge of postcards from all over the nation! :teeth: The postcards were from "The Gingerbread Man" who wrote one or two sentences about the places he was visiting on his travels. The kids had a blast!!! And I don't think my daughter has had that much mail addressed to her before or since.

Have fun! :teeth:

Hi guys, just a quick update.... :D kate came home yesterday and said that the class had made the morning announcements because they were the first class to reach 100 postcards. They had 119 as of monday. (I'm dying to know how many were actually to kate, I'd be willing to bet at least 60 of them). There was another stack in the teacher's box yesterday, but she got to them before I did, so I don't know who they were for. Anyhow, thanks so much for helping kate's class get to 100 first. She was THRILLED! :D As I have said several times, you guys rock! :D maggie

WOW-
that is awesome -
somethin tells me that by the time it is said and done KATE will have 100 there herself -
does she take those all home - lol

How did it go? Did Kate get the majority of cards?

I haven't heard anything else from the teacher about it. I did go and hang all the postcards on the map... that was entertaining to say the least. The east coast was pretty crowded and I was having to stick some of them in the midwest.... :D I do know that their class got to 100 first. :D I know when I was hanging them, kate, and 2 other kids seemed to be the only ones getting postcards. They get to bring their cards home at the end of the month so I can update y'all then. But in the meantime, thanks so much for making this a success! :D maggie

We just got home from a weekend road trip to Memphis, TN. I wanted to let you know that we sent two postcards to your daughters class from there. ::yes::
