My sister's MIL recently passed away, and had a little dog. My sister can't take it, so we were thinking of volunteering. He's 12 years old, a poodle, and can't see him being given to strangers. Anyway, we have a couple of questions. First, at the MILs house, the dog had been going to the bathroom once in awhile on a table. It still smells after removing the table. How to get rid of the smell in that room? Also, once we take him, since he is older, is this going to be a habit we can break? Finally, I've never had a pet before, but we want to help them out. This dog, as I said, is 12. Hes got bad teeth, doesn't see the best anymore...what happens to dogs as they get old? I always here of them being put down, but is that what needs to be done? How do you know when? Could they just pass on sometime? I'm not trying to be morbid or anything, its just, as I said, I've never had a pet and I want to be fully prepared for everything. Thanks for any info!
