Ok, so last night we went out to DTD for awhile and when we came back to our room the living room TV was on. I'm positive that I turned it off before we left. We stood in the kitchen area for a minute wondering why the TV was on and all of a sudden it just turned off:scared1:

I don't think it could have been on a sleep timer (do those TV's even have sleep timers :confused3 ) since we were out for probably 4 hours.

Very creepy :sad2: :scared:

Probably a stray signal from a remote control in a nearby room.

oh great - first there was problem with the outside, then the plumbing, now the electricity...

Did you check your Doombuggy before you left the Mansion? There are warnings about just this kind of thing........................:rolleyes1

Obviously, the scary clown on the slide has a very powerful remote! :scared1:

Happens all of the time here in Pittsburgh, our TV will come in in the middle of the night, sometimes it goes off by itself. Instead of the ghost theory I believe it to be a faulty on/off switch depressed too many times by the kids. How many kids have turned off a TV at Disney?:happytv:

Yep - I think this is it.

Or maybe it is DVC members who were unsuccessful at the 7 month mark and are hoping to decrease the competition for next year. ;) ;)

I think it's the scary clown slide mad that it's under refurbishment because we went out again tonight and sure enough we came back and the TV was on. It turned off about 5 minutes later. Or maybe it's SSR mad at us because we aren't at our 'home' resort.

To add to the remote theory, we are the last room in the hallway, right by the elevators. So unless someone is outside by the front entrance turning our TV on it doesn't seem to work.

DFi is sitting in front of the tv now trying to find some timer that is turning it on and off:confused3

Tell DH to check under the Timer settings for Auto On and Auto Off.

I frequently set my TVs to turn on at a given hour and shut off at another. It's a good way of setting a TV alarm clock. (Though it is easy to get your AM and PM mixed up.)

And like any miscreant traveler, I forget to unset it when I check out.

What channel was it on? Was it the Disney top 7 show with Stacy (is that her name, the overly bubbly and annoying hostess)? If so, then the ghost story gets much scarier (and the clown possessing the tv becomes very plausible). Shudder....

We've got one too!

The small tv in our breakfast nook will turn itself on regularly. We came back from our disney trip to find it happily playing "Dr. 90210". :rolleyes1

My husband thinks there's a short in it somewhere, so now we unplug it when we leave for any length of time.

Now if it still turned on I'd be doing the "doo doo doo doo" song....:scared1:

We had to get rid of a TV that did that! It was out on our covered screen porch and would come on in the middle of the night or when we were out of town. Then you couldn't turn it on when you wanted it to work - drove us nuts!

Everytime we said we were going to get rid of it it work for a few days again - we thought it was haunted, too!

We had a haunted microwave in a BWV studio in Oct. It would start beeping in the middle of the night. I had to unplug it, too.

I'm wondering if the weird TV thing is what happened in a room next to us once at BWV. There was a VERY loud tv on in the room next to us lquite late one night. I tried calling the room, calling the front desk, and banging on the wall. Nothing was working. I thought someone had fallen asleep with the TV on (not sure how with it so loud), but maybe it had turned itself on and no one was in there. :confused3 That was not my most pleasant night at WDW, I recall.

The 1st time we stayed at OKW (2002), our 2bdr had a balcony door that would be open almost every night when we returned from whatever park we were in.
After the 1st time, we made sure that door was securely closed and locked. Twice that week the TV was on as well. By the end of the week we were a little spooked, but nothing was ever taken, and nothing was out of place, so we just counted it as just another part of that years vacation (The one that was haunted).
