Theres a place around my area, that is a hotspot for kids to go to. Its probably one of the funnest places I have ever been when it comes to an adrenaline rush, and its scary as hell.

Built in 1901 by Quakers as a 20 room mountain retreat in Monroe County PA, the Buck Hill Inn grew into the biggest resort in the Poconos with a four story hotel made of stone and 270 rooms. It eventually closed in 1991 and sits deserted and partially burned out now, waiting on its' fate - either restoration or the wrecking ball. In its' heyday, violence, murder and suicide along with other assorted mayhem were well known within its' walls.

It was supposed to be a place that the Mob liked to frequent, and the owners were more than willing to bend a rule or three themselves. It's said that in 66 years of operation, 73 people died at the hotel. Five, in fact, died in one room, #354.

A bride named Lorna Kilpatrick was murdered there by the very priest that married her the day before at the resort. He committed suicide, and Lorna's ghost has haunted the room ever since. A maid slit her wrists in there while clutching a rosary. People refused to stay in the room because of the constant freezing cold, doors that wouldn't stay shut - and the ghosts. The hotel had to shut the room permanently.

There's a small room in the basement that's spooked by the spirit of an accountant who was supposedly murdered there. He was cooking the books and the owner found out. One bathroom saw three murders committed in it, and was haunted by a ghost evoked in a seance gone haywire. It had to be exorcised, and poltergeist activity still took place in the restroom. A maid's closet was the scene of a strangulation, and it was said you could hear the maid gasp and her labored breathing and death rattle afterwards. The spook of an elderly soldier in an old uniform was reported wandering in the servants quarter's on the third floor. He has a gaping hole in his chest from a musket wound. He once strolled through a garden party and then vanished.

An Indian spirit has been seen roaming the area, too. In fact, the Native Americans believed the whole area was evil. Certain psychics agree, saying the East Room is the center of lay lines that mark evil. It may be. One owner's wife used to sleep in a room where the lines converged. She ended up schizophrenic.

There are also lots of poltergeist activities. One guard said during his nightly rounds lights would go on and doors open in buildings that he had secured earlier. Some guests reported hearing voices, shaking beds, opening and shutting widows, electrical devices going off on their own, and ghost sightings - even of spooks hovering over their bed. It was featured on MTV's Fear series, and Kelly Weaver, Paraseek investigator, was part of the show.

Like it said, it was on MTV's fear. Search "Buck Hill Inn" on youtube if you want to see the episode.

In other words, post places and info around you that are supposedly haunted. This place is so much fun for my buddies and i to go to, and im just curious about other places around you.

My house. And I'm not kidding. About 10:30 every night there's this big single knock on our door. My cat will do something, like she'll just be staring at a wall as if there was something there. Her eyes will follow invisible stuff around the room. Our lamp flickers constantly, and I swear, one time I saw an actual ghost in our house. Either that or I was hallucinating.

i live near Boston so we have all of that plus Salem, MA where all the witch trials were. lots of creepy things there..

Buck Hill Inn. Hmm, do you go to East?

BTW, i turn down everyone that asks me to go there. I'm too wimpy haha

I live in Louisiana near Oak Alley. I've also been to the Myrtle's. Me and two of my cousins went and when we were in the bathroom one of them opened a stall, and the latch swing back on the door. She jumped like 10 ft in the air... sooo funny :rotfl:

Hmm... there's a few tiny haunted places around here, but nothing major.
The biggest "haunted" thing we have is SCarowinds. And it's not even really haunted. They just pretend it is.

I live the small kansas town of Marysville, we may be lesser known but we do have two ghost tales:

Their is a miss-inturpted legend about a girl who lived in a half completed house on the hill above the high school, they say she fell off the uncompelted balcony, but what really happened to this little girl was scarier, one day some workers left behind some sand, after it rained it became wet and modelable, the little girl and her friend made a small cave in the sand to play house in, but soon the sand lost its hold and collapsed on the little girl, her friend went to get help, they tried to get her out but it was too late, she was buried alive, the house still stands uncomplted on the hill, overgrown with weeds and infested by snakes, no one dare to go in.

A mysterious thing happend in the local elementray school in the form of a haunted blackboard, if your wrote names on it, the Ghost would cross it out, if you wrote sentances on it will right the same words backwards, to this day we still don't know what happened.

The nearest place is Eastern State Penetitentiary in Philly..

yeah its freaky, and eerie. it was a former prison that mobster al capone was in. visit in the dark, and you'll find something weird happening.
