Hi! I haven't been on in a while. Post Trip Depression kept me from coming on. :sad1: haha. Well I have been planning a few trips to go to Disneyland, since me and the boyfriend save so much of our money by living with his parents, not eating out, and not doing much of anything, we have the money to keep going. I just don't want to go while Haunted Mansion is being remodeled for the HMH, (please don't yell! the search button isn't working for me for some reason) and I wandered when it is usually scheduled so I don't plan on going for that time! Thanks!

No definite dates yet, but speculation is it will close for the overlay sometime between 9/9 (anniversary event) and 9/13 (end of D23) and reopen around 9/25 (official start of Halloween season).

Typically the mansion will be closed for the nbc overlay, after labor day. Remain closed for about 2 weeks, then reopen before the end of September, remain such until after Jan. 01, close down, then after @2 weeks reopen as the normal mansion. This year, the overlay might not occur, due to the mansion's 40th Anniversary event. There is much debate regarding that subject, and so far, Disney's Guest Services is not telling (In the event they do know for certain, one way or another)

Sorry I cant help you with the dates, but welcome back to the boards! :thumbsup2 Best way to get over post trip depression is to start planning to go back. I think of it like I just need to go home to get some more money, then I can come back. Keeping yourself in the mindset that your going back helps incredibly.

Since the disneyland site is showing the date that Halloween season starts, and they also state that Jack Skellington will be in the HM, I think that regardless of what Guest Services has been told, we can assume that's about when HMH will begin. :)

And this might be the first time I've ever believed what the disneyland site says. :upsidedow

Thank you for the information Molly. Would you happen to have that particular link handy? For the last time I read any mention of hmh, a date had not been stated yet. But then, that was some time ago, now.

That is too bad if hmh is going to take place this year. One would think, I do anyway, as well as many other people, that what with the mansion's 40th Anniversary this year, that the mansion would be left as is. Well unless the hat box ghost will be returning, I am very interested in seeing whether or not he will do so. I am in favor of his return.

The overally will happen this year, and Haunted Mansion Holiday opens September 25th.

I posted awhile back that I was told by a Guest Relations CM at the times board at DL that the overlay is happening.

I am not sure where the speculation came from that it would not happen, but according to Guest Relations, it is.

According to an announcement I read, Halloween Time begins 25 September, and will have the Haunted Mansion Holiday, Candy Corn Acres, Mickey's Trick or Treat Party (MToTP), and some new stuff. :woohoo: So, everyone who said the overlay is happening, and the date is 9/25, is correct. :)

Keep in mind, though, that it's a Small World will be closed in the October timeframe for the holiday make-over and will not open until early November, so if you want to go on that, too, you'd probably want to go at the end of September, or beginning of November when those two attractions will be up.

I love the holiday season @ Disneyland when they decorate for the auturmn, adding all the extras for Nightmare Before Christmas, and the colors throughout the parks.

=) Thanks for the help everyone! I will plan my trips around that! I am so glad we were lucky enough to make as much money as we did this year. The dbf and I love our trips, no matter how much people make fun of us (mostly me, because I'm the girl people seem to think I make him take me to DL ). Now, my boyfriend says our next trip will be a surprise. He is going to wake me up at 2am on a saturday and we will drive the 6 hours straight there! Just a one day thing, but sooo worth it.

I called DGS's a short time ago. And the Haunted Mansion is set for closure on the 10th of September 2009, in prepartion of nbc/hmh overlay. I was figuring that might be the case, since at some point, the information was released regarding the above taking place this year. And that the Haunted Mansion's 40th Anniversary Event takes place on 09-09-09.
