When does HM change over to Nightmare Before Christmas??

It is scheduled to be down September 5th through 28th to do the overlay. It will reopen on Friday, September 29th.

Does the actual ride content change during this period or is it just the outside?

This may be my only chance to go to DL and I wanna see all things properly, I'll be there Nov 9-13, does anyone know what it will be when I am there, or if it will be open?

unfortinitly for you it will not be proper it will be christmas/halloween version including the speiling the soundtrack and well mostly everything. Granted it is very good and its the only time of year HM uses its fastpass it wont be the orignial one your used to sorry

The overlay happens on the inside as well as the outside and is usually up until the 2 week of January so unfortuately you won't be able to see Haunted Mansion in it's orignal state. But I really like the Nightmare overlay, I'm sure you will enjoy it even if it's not quite the same.

I think that Disneyland is not going to have a Haunted Mansion Event - but they will do the overlay.
