Hello all,
It has been about 5 years since we have been to the parks, and we are currently planning a return. I use an ECV in the parks, and in the past have been required to transfer to a wheelchair for HM. I was reading the DISabilities FAQ and see that its now listed that you can obring your ECV within about 75 feet of loading. Have they changed the line or are they loading ECVs through the side door that bypasses the stretching room?

We took our ECV into Haunted in September. We went through the regular way and through the stretching room. Once out of the stretching room, we were asked about transferring and if my mom could walk X number of feet and walk on a moving platform. She could do the walking, but not the moving platform, so we were sent down a short hallway to wait for the buggies designated for handicap boarding to come around and stop. My mom only ended up having to walk maybe 10-15 feet and I am sure we could have gotten closer if needed. It was then stopped when we came back around for her to get off and the ECV had actually been parked a little closer yet for us.

Thanks. I will remember that next trip. I always stress out getting on and off the moving platform!

Me too-moving platforms give me anxiety just seeing them! I've avoided Haunted Mansion for several years because of that.

I’m assuming that’s why the doom buggies occasionally stop mid-ride?

But just to be sure, did you say that they let her stay on her ECV in the stretching room? I hope so, since I don't have much balance, none in the dark.

in Sep, we took our ECVs into the stretching room and were instructed to move to the right, against the wall and exit last. Then when you exit, a asks if you can walk a short distance and if so, are directed into a queue to the right that is pretty much a direct shot to loading.
