Haunted Mansion theme rooms?

Anybody know anything about the progress of Haunted Mansion theme rooms? I just read a post about the "top 5 favorite rides," and HM ranks really high on many lists, including mine. I would love go stay in a HM room, and hope the Disney folks are still contemplating putting them in...

Oh right! They're going in right next to the haunted water slides at River Country and I also heard that the food court was being refurbed to look like the ballroom.

No, I didn't "hear" it on the street. I don't think it's a crazy question. Not like I asked if the Rockin roller coaster was closing...

It seems the person on that blog included a sentence about wishing they would do something like this. It might have helped if you had actually cited your source in your initial post.

I don't ever recall any mention of a Haunted Mansions theme room (at any resort) on the Disboards.

And to actually answer your question: there have never been any announced plans for a refurb of that nature. I don't think they're still contemplating putting them in. I don't think they were ever contemplating putting them in. I can just imagine the number of little children who would be thrilled with an idea like that.

Lol...sorry, I'm a geek for the macabre...and I know that there would be thousands more like me who would be too. My DD (12) would totally love a HM room.

Hey----I got that survey!!!!! I remember the Royal rooms because they seemed a bit gaudy. The Haunted Mansion one as described got my vote. Apparently not enough folks liked it because they added the Pirate and Royal Rooms and not the Haunted ones.

Actually if you had read the whole thing it describes Disney's idea for Pirate, Royal and Haunted rooms and also shows Disney concept art for both the Royal and Haunted rooms. Seriously, the rudeness around here from "veterans" is getting really old.

This seems to me like an awesome idea. And since it took a couple of years to get the Royal rooms done after the Pirate rooms, maybe the Haunted rooms are coming to POFQ in the future?

Did you look at the link that was posted? Looks like they had concept art for all THREE ideas, two of which have, obviously, happened. So I suppose they WERE considering it! Awesome!

Well said. I was a recipient of the survey in 2010 which showed pictures of both the Royal rooms and Haunted Mansion rooms. While I think the rooms would be pretty cool, they might creep some of the younger set out! Maybe they will eventually show up if the Royal rooms prove to be successful?

I showed the concept art to my 14 year old, she loved it. I'm sure if my 16 year old were home she'd love it too. Haunted Mansion is one of our favorite rides. I really hope they are planning to do it, and like I said, it took them 2 years from the time they did the Pirate rooms to get the Royal rooms done. So maybe by 2014 POFQ will have a few haunted rooms. Where else might they go? Any ideas?

I think they decided not to do them.I read somewhere that they went ahead with the Princess and Pirate rooms but they weren't going to do the HM rooms after all.

That's a real bummer. As far as the smaller kids not liking the rooms and thinking that they are a bit creepy, I have to say this:

I've been trying to book a royal room for a whole month now; Ive been calling back every week. Not a single one of the 512 rooms are an option for our September vacation...I'm sure that they would 'sell out' too!

It's no joke, there were concept ideas for the HM rooms, I was also a recipient of the survey about them about a year or so ago. It was discussed at length here on the DIS for awhile. For whatever reason the HM themed rooms never came to be, but they did go ahead with the Pirate Rooms at CBR & Royal Rooms at POR (that were also discussed in the survey from Disney and here on the DIS) Why would you assume someone made this up? Do your research & get your facts straight before you go ASSuming the OP was being facetious. It was a valid question.
