Posted on the notes, is the information on Haunted Mansion rehad @WDW from Dec 1st/2014 to Dec 19 19th/2014.

AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Thats the 1 thing I was looking forward to. I practically booked my vacation in anticipation for it! AHHHHH!!!

Can anyone else confirm this?

We are long range planners too and I'm sad that we are there in the parks for 14 days and it's scheduled to be closed the whole time. It is one of our family's favorites. I'm sure we'll be just fine, but it was a sad realization. Anyone know what they are actually doing?

Most likely, minor "clean up" and installing ride photos.

It's true! Hubby just called WDW and spoke with a CM. It was not on her main page of rehabs but, upon checking further, the HM will be closed from 12/1/2014-12/19/2014.

Spoke with a CM friend. Apparently they are "cleaning up" ride and adding the photo option at the end. Give you a chance to have your pic with your hitchhiking ghost.

2) Just a cleaning.
3) AND, rumors of a photo-op near the end of the ride.

I know that they have a couple of "magic" Photopass options that relate to the Haunted Mansion, including one with the hitchhiking ghosts and another with the ghost driver of the carriage/hearse out front. Pretty sure these are done primarily around Halloween (especially during MNSSHP) but maybe some of you going during the "refurb" time in December could contact Disney ahead of time and beg for these magic photos to be more readily available during that time to sort of make up for having the ride closed during part of the holiday season. Not quite the same as being on the actual ride, but at least it could give you a pretty cool take-home souvenir (for the right price, of course).

I was told recently that they have to clean the AC system once a year to keep it from going to ruin. The air returns suck up all the fake cobwebs, clogging the system. Incidentally, they also have to re-hang the cobwebs! ...a vicious cycle...

I cannot imagine the million$ of dollar$ it takes to run WDW...

Not that it would happen, but it would be nice if Disney would announce these things with at least 6 months notice since we have to plan that far in advance to get dining reservations.
