Haunted Mansion : Real Hauntings

That St Augustine show was freaky. We are stopping there on our are way to WDW in November just for that reason.

The fact that they don't find a lot of stuff makes the show that more interesting as opposed to Most Haunted on the Travel Channel with that wack job Derek. The interpersonal things on TAPS makes it as much fun as finding ghost. The drama between the characters is great.

Sorry for going off topic.

Loved the St Augustine show. And I agree, since they debunk so much stuff, I find myself trusting what they do find a lot more. I actually get mad at DH when he says stuff like, "They rigged that chair!" I'm all like, "Grant and Jason would NEVER do that!!"

Can you imagine them at HM? Think of all the behind the scenes stuff we'd get a peek at. They could do POC, too, and see if they can rouse the ghost there.

Oh ya, Derek Acorah and his "residual energy".

Yvette screams at every little unexplained noise or perceived movement.

The light anomalies, which TAPS would explain away as a bug or, more often, dust, are constantly being mentioned by the Most Haunted crew.

M.H. has never shown anything that could be construed as a haunting.

As much as TAPS tries to discredit their findings, they have shown some fantastic, concrete proof of the hauntings they have found! Their low key approach to investigating makes them seem so much more professional than the M.H. crew.

I was thrilled when Brian Harnois left the show. His rehiring blew me away...I find him aggravating to no end!

Jason Hawes, Grant Wilson...what the heck were you thinking?

Harnois is just getting hammered now though. Everything is his fault now. I have to agree that he is annoying sometimes.

HM can't be haunted because like they said in the episode where they investigated the Borden house(I think) - "If it has a gift shop, it probably isn't haunted." But wait HM doesn't actually have a gift shop does it! ;)

TAPS definitely finds some interesting things. The figure in the locker at that hotel in Arkansas was pretty creepy and was number one on my list until the St Augustine show. That lighthouse was crazy! The Shining hotel was pretty cool too.

My wife even got me TAPS merchandise for Christmas!

If there really is such a thing as real hauntings at Potc or HM I would think it would be neat to meet up with one of them. Of course it would scare me but still be neat. :thumbsup2

Unfortunately, TAPS would investigate, collect lots of evidence and find nothing of real consequence. :rotfl2: Love the show's concept, but very little amounts to anything!

IMO, this is what makes the show interesting. Other shows have the "psychics" who are just so out there it makes everything else they do and say suspect. On the other hand, the fact that the TAPS crew makes every effort to come up with a normal explanation of the supposed paranormal activity give more credibility to the cases that they do label as paranormal.

One of the coolest things they presented was that guy who claimed to be psychic who tried to read Jason and on the heat camera they caught a wave of something emanating from Jason toward the guy when he was trying to block the reading.

As far as the HM or WDW in general, I think it would be interesting to see what the results would be if the TAPS gang investigated. Lets face it, HM and ToT have artifacts that have long histories and could have strong attachments to their original owners...

The Atlantic Paranormal Society - they are ghost hunters. They are plumbers by day and ghost hunters by night. They have a show on the Sci Fi channel where they go to all kind of places and use cool gizmos to find ghosts. Really interesting show.

Thats right it doesn't have a gift shop

I read somewhere that the actual ride is not in the haunted mansion house, but in a wharehouse outside of the park? Is this true? If so, it kind of ruins it for me. :guilty:

Also, I've found so many varying stories behind the whole bride theme that I'm not sure which one I should go by? It just makes it so much better to know the story to understand all the rooms.

Actually the one in california is under ground because when you step into the breifing room it goes down in an elevator type deal and its not in a warehouse...

The one in florida stays where it is and doesnt go down the walls actually go up. Now of course not all the ride is in the actual mansion because the mansion can only hold so much but from what you see outside some of it is used
