I read on all ears and wdwinfo that it was available but yesterday a CM told us "we don't do that here". Has it changed or was the CM just too preoccupied with the young ladies he was talking with to do one?

Haunted Mansion doesn't have a height restriction, so there is no "formal" rider swap at this attraction. Some CM's may have allowed it but I wouldn't expect it here.

Rider swaps are typically used when there's somebody unable to ride, generally when there's a height restriction though I think there may be other reasons (I'm not positive but most things I've read say it's for height restriction attractions when somebody's too small). If there's some kind of special needs reason to not be able to ride then I would think that a GAC of some sort should be usable to be able to hand off the person in question I guess at the exit (assuming you can find a cooperative CM there; they don't have the best track record with GACs at HM) but otherwise, what need is there for a typical ride swap at HM?

Note that I haven't read what was written on allears and wdwinfo.

I have had kids at the age there were parts of the mansion that were too scary, but as a parent we would like to ride. Seems that should be respected. As av ECV user this last trip dh was denied the train from adventure land to fantasy land. Only if we broke it down. The accessable car in front of us was empty. I had to transfer a person in the wheel cair, and fold, lift the chair into the seat...is it just CM not wanting to load, or new policy no EVC?

Sounds like you may have entered the train access from the wrong location. We have had no problem loading 2-3 wheelchairs at the special entrance.

When I was there last summer, they told us that the Frontierland station was the only one accessible with an ECV. I was hoping that the new Fantasyland station would be,too, but it sounds like maybe not? I would think that they would keep that in mind when building new things.

As far as the rider swap, it's always been for people who CAN'T ride, not ones who just don't want to.

GACs are to give accommodation for the person who is riding.
You may sometimes get a CM who will allow you to use it that way, but officially, it is to assist a person with a disability who will be riding.

Attractions with formal rider swap are usually those with height requirements or warnings.

The train has always been listed as an attraction where ECV users must transfer to a train seat or wheelchair to ride.
So, the CMs saying the ECV could not be brought on is not unusual.

The brand new park maps that include the new Fantasyland train station do still list all stations as transfer from an ECV to a wheelchair.

The Frontierland station has the least space to leave an ECV, so if you are planning a round trip, the new Fantasyland station would be easiest to get to (level) and to leave the ECV while you are on the train.

Yeah I can't ride due to disability but still no swap. We sent my brother & my mother just skipped it this trip. I was just curious as to whether something changed or if it was the CM. As I said he was really preoccupied by a few young ladies his age at the time.
