Haunted Mansion Interactive Q Question

You know you are a Disnerd when you ask a question like this!!!!

With a fastpass or maybe luck last trip we went right up to the entrance door. I didnt realize there was an interactive que now!! I want to see this so we plan to visit without a fastpass. My question is, if not busy and the route is direct to the door is the que still operational..in other words if we asked would they let us walk through it..taking the long way to the door.

What is the best strategy to see this que? We visit march 1-10

We went when it wasn't crowded and we just kind of let people go "ahead" of us so we could play with some of the stuff

I believe that the interactive queue is always running, though it was closed while they were doing the refurb of the outside.

when we were there I didnt even see it just directed straight to the door.....oh maybe that was the fp entrance!

I asked during our 2015 trip and was told the ring was sent away to be washed.

Was it there pre-interactive queue? I'm wondering if they got rid of it when they updated the queue in 2011.

No, I looked for it when it used to be at the exit. Where it used to be is like a black brick as if it had been replaced, I'm guessing they moved it or they really did get rid of it.

The wedding ring of the Bride in the attic was located in one of the slabs on the floor as you exit the ride (used to be?) I guess looking it up it has been moved to the Interactive Queue area.
