Actually the disboards refurb schedule shows HM down (9/4-9/20) as well as the DL website's calendar.
I have been stalking the DL refurb schedule waiting to see when it reopens.
We left on the day it reopened last year (9/29).

I remember reading on another site that DL wanted to extend the Haunted Mansion's holiday overlay a little earlier for 2007.

According to the calendar on the Disneyland site, HM is down from Sept. 4th to the 20th, re-opening on Sept. 21st.
