Just wanted to let everyone know that Haunted Carriage rides began booking this morning. I have been calling every day, and lucked into finding this out. The carriage ride will be similar to last year. The CM told me that that they have extended the hours a bit - I think she said they begin at 5:30. I don't know for sure how late they go, but last year they ran until 10:30. I've been told these book very fast, so if you're interested, give 1 407 WDW PLAY a call!

Just wanted to say thanks for the fantastic heads up!

Have been waiting to book this.

We are at HDDR at 5, sunset is at 6.54 ish, carriage ride at 7.30. Can u tell I'm so excited and just a little bit of an over planner!

Thank you again.
Nikki

Thank you! I just saw this and thought it might be too late (it's 9am here, but noon EST), but got one on my first choice night just now. We really wanted this, so I'm thrilled. :yay:

I'm glad you guys got what you wanted. I know this is very popular, so you would think that they'd let people know when it was going to start booking. I called on Thursday and the CM said they had no info about when booking would start and then today - taaaaduum! they start - kind of crazy. This is why I love the Disboards, though. I can usually get more info here than I can from Disney!

If it makes you feel better the CMs find out about the same time you guys do.

Thanks for the info, I was waiting for this as well and have managed to book for 30th October. We did this last year but the kids wanted to do it again!:)

That's our night too. 10:30, so probably the last carriage ride (no kids this trip).

I can't decide if i should book this or not? Just what is the "scare factor" I have a 10 year old son that just LOVES to be scared, and an 8 year old daughter, well, not so much...

Does anyone know when they start doing the haunted carriage rides? Is it Oct 1st like last year?

Hi
My DD and DGD (8) and I did this last year and my DD and I loved it. My DGD was so scared. She didn't like it at all. I asked my DD before I booked it if she thought my DGD would be ok, and she said that she should be. I think it just depends on the child. My DD and I thought it was great. I think your 10 year old would love it if he loves to be scared. I thought my DGD would be ok because she loves all the thrill rides, but this is different. Have fun in whatever you decide.

Yes, no kidding. I didn't even really give a 2nd thought to this. I'd briefly read about it on the wdwinfo.com mainpage when I was perusing about MNSSHP. If it wasn't for this board, I would've been out of the loop!:disrocks::disrocks:

I called and got my tix for the very time slot I wanted! The CM I spoke to was delightful and she was amazed I already knew because they had just opened them up!

I'm tickled pink. :cloud9: We're going right after HDDR. DH will freak. His DGF used to have draft horses. He is going to love this! Thanks!!

what is the haunted carriage ride? can little ones go?

I'd like to know too....

I never heard of this...what exactly is it?

How funny - three of us from the board on the same night. We also booked Oct 30 at 9:00. We've never been down at Halloween and I thought this would be a fun way to start the trip. Happy haunts to all!

Ahhh I hope I'm not too late! I will be calling tomorrow, first thing!!!

Its certainly a coincidence three of us booking for the same night yesterday. Our time is 7.30pm as its our first full day there and we will probably have a bit of jet lag. My DD was only just turned 7 when we did the first carriage ride and she wasnt too scared but it would definitely depend on the child and its very dark where they take you round Fort Wilderness.

Thank you for posting this!! I've been calling everyday and been disappointed due to them not opening the reservations. I found the post this morning and was able to book it!! Thank you!!! :goodvibes

The Haunted Carriage Ride is awesome! You have your own private carriage, driver, horse, etc. They play a tape that is the Legend of Sleepy Hallow. The MK's fireworks were going off when we started ours last year. There is a graveyard you pass...the horse's feet clip clop. The headless horseman shows up and tries to get you, but of course you will get away and win. I took my nephews on this last year (ages 3 & 7) and they LOVED it! However, when the headless horsemen came, he actually reached for the oldest's Mickey ears (he had really cool Toy Story ones) so he slide across the seat and the younger one jumped in my mom's lap. Afterwards the oldest told everyone how the headless horseman really wanted his Mickey ears, but it didn't make any sense since he didn't have a head. Was the headless horseman going to put his Mickey ears on his horse, or the pumpkin head? It was really cute!

When we go back to the world around Halloween time this, in addition to MNSSHP, is an abolute must do for us!
