Hats on Rides

Don't they collect the hats and ears on a regular or nightly basis? Is it not possible to get them from lost and found? Does anyone know?

When I lost mine on Mr Toads. They told me to come back after the fireworks. The ride shut downs and they do a walk through so they'd get it then. So that's how I was able to get them same day. My guess is that any ride that doesn't shut down for fireworks you'd have to wait until the next day to get them.
